Stifel analyst Benjamin Mogil reiterated a Buy rating and $70 price AMC Networks (NASDAQ: AMCX) following news they have renewed "Halt and Catch Fire" for a second season, which he views as a positive.
"The first season of "Halt and Catch Fire" averaged 1.3mn viewers (live + same day) and the company attributes its core affluent audience as a key reason for the renewal," Mogil comments. "The renewal of "Halt and Catch Fire" is consistent with our thoughts that the company will give the show at least two seasons to see if the show can find its audience and benefit from the "Netflix effect".
