Morgan Stanley raises Texas Instruments estimates on chip demand

Investing.com -- Morgan Stanley raised its second and third quarter estimates for Texas Instruments based on continued strength in the semiconductor recovery, according to a research note published Monday.

The firm's AlphaWise distributor survey for the second quarter of 2026 showed that momentum from the first quarter is extending into September, though at a slower pace than the sharp acceleration seen earlier in the year.

Morgan Stanley said it expects strong June quarter results across the sector. The survey showed no distributors expect declines in analog or microcontroller units. Industrial demand held steady while automotive showed mixed results.

Bank of America (BofA) is upbeat on the analog semiconductor sector ahead of second-quarter earnings, flagging a recovery in cyclical demand that is now combining with secular AI-driven growth to set up a favorable stretch of estimate beats.

BofA analyst Vivek Arya said the analog sector is transitioning "from inventory normalization to demand restocking," with price hikes, rising factory utilization and improving product mix all supporting faster gross-margin recovery.

The team named Analog Devices (NASDAQ: ADI), Texas Instruments (NASDAQ: TXN) and ON Semiconductor (NASDAQ: ON) as its top picks, while also favoring Microchip (NASDAQ: MCHP) and Allegro Microsystems (NASDAQ: ALGM).

Analysts at Wolfe Research say they are bullish on analog chipmakers ahead of second-quarter earnings, arguing that rising prices and a growing datacenter business make the group's near-term outlook more attractive than the market may appreciate.

“We're bullish on analog into earnings, raising estimates broadly on higher pricing, with data center a tailwind for most,” analysts including Chris Caso said in a note, singling out Texas Instruments (NASDAQ: TXN), Microchip Technology (NASDAQ: MCHP) and Monolithic Power Systems (NASDAQ: MPWR) as its favorite names in the space.
