Berkshire Hathaway/Lubrizol Corp.
On March 14, 2011, Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A) announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement for the acquisition of The Lubrizol Corporation (NYSE: LZ) at a price of $135 per LZ share, or total consideration of $9.7 billion.
The purchase price includes approximately $0.7 billion in net debt.
Closing is expected in Q311.
Citi and Evercore Partners are acting as financial advisors to Lubrizol, and Lubrizol’s legal counsel is Jones Day. Berkshire Hathaway’s transaction counsel is Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP.
