Microchip Technology (NASDAQ: MCHP) is in advanced talks to buy Microsemi (NASDAQ: MSCC), according to the Wall Street Journal, citing sources. A deal would value Microsemi in the mid-$60s per share.

A deal could be stuck this week, though there is no guarantee of a deal, and the sides have significant issues to agree on.
