Vuzix is one of 29 global companies that were invited and will be in attendance as exhibitors at the HKIA Technovation Conference and Exhibition. Vuzix will showcase the M300 Smart Glasses features and capabilities related to airport operations to various international airlines and the hundreds of airport representatives in attendance.

The 3rd annual HKIA Technovation Conference and Exhibition brings together airport community members and industry experts, offering them a platform to exchange ideas on the latest trends in innovative technology and solutions for service optimization and excellence. The focus of this year's event is on data analytics and intelligence applications, which offer high potential to facilitate operational efficiencies at the airport.

The Vuzix M300 Smart Glasses have already been tested and proven by SATS at Singapore's Changi airport to be a reliable hands-free productivity tool device for airport ramp handling operations. The M300 Smart Glasses are lightweight and ready for outdoor use and features the battery life and ergonomics required to be worn by airport workers for a full shift. The M300 is also equipped with video recording and streaming capabilities that allow for easy tracking of cargo and bags. The use of RFID tags and QR codes accessed through the M300 Smart Glasses allow handlers to leverage digitized information to improve loading speed, reduce errors and turn a plane around in less time.

"Airport transportation companies operate in a very competitive environment similar to logistics where a slight improvement in the process can have a significant impact on the bottom line," said Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix. "The other similarity between logistics and the airport transportation industry is that there are hundreds of thousands mobile workers around the globe currently employed at more than 41,000 airports globally. The Hong Kong International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the globe ranking 1st in metric tons of cargo and 8th in world in total passengers."
