Bloomberg is reporting that shares of Distribucion y Servicio D&S S.A. (NYSE: DYS) have jumped on speculation that Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) could buy the Chilean supermarket operator.
DYS was halted about a half hour ago as it has risen about 25% intraday on these rumors.
Distribucion y Servicio D&S S.A. and its subsidiaries engage in the operation of supermarkets in Chile.
