Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 8/26: NYMX, VG, SOMX, USEG Higher; CASM, CCUR, ISLE, DY Lower

Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation (Nasdaq: NYMX) 36.6% HIGHER; shares have spiked mid-day on news that NX-1207, the Company's lead drug in development, has been shown to repeatedly produce strongly positive results when given to animals with hepatocellular carcinoma. In the experimental studies, the cancers were significantly reduced in size after 2 local injections of NX-1207. The rodents in the studies had transplanted human HCC, a standard model for cancer research. These animals had an average tumor burden reduction of close to 50% after 20 days.

Vonage (NYSE: VG) 35.2% HIGHER; since Thursday, Aug. 20, shares have jumped an unprecedented 430%. Vonage said yesterday that it "doesn't specifically comment on short-term fluctuations in market activity", but noted several developments that could be contributing to the upside: "Three weeks ago, the company announced financial results which included record adjusted EBITDA of $31 million, positive net income for the first time in the company’s history and positive cash flow. Last week, the company launched Vonage World which provides flat rate unlimited calling to over 60 countries with unlimited readable voicemail (visual voicemail). Initial interest has been strong. Additionally, the company previously announced that it expects to enter the mobile applications market, which has garnered a great deal of attention in recent weeks and months."

Somaxon Pharma (Nasdaq: SOMX) 33.4% HIGHER; not hearing any company-specific news today, but volume is about 700% higher than normal.

CAS Medical Systems (Nasdaq: CASM) 18.6% LOWER; correcting today following yesterday's 83% rise on FDA clearance news.

U.S. Energy Corp. (Nasdaq: USEG) 17.7% HIGHER; announced that it has entered into a Drilling Participation Agreement with Brigham Exploration Company (Nasdaq: BEXP) to earn working interests in up to fifteen 1,280 acre spacing units in Brigham's Rough Rider project area located in Williams and McKenzie Counties of North Dakota. The terms of the DPA call for the drilling of up to 15 initial Bakken wells in 15 separate 1,280 acre spacing units. The ultimate number of wells to be drilled in the units could reach 90.

Concurrent (Nasdaq: CCUR) 17.6% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.03, versus the analyst estimate of $0.15 and compared to a loss of $0.12 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $15.9 million, versus the consensus of $18.75 million. (only 1 analyst covers the stock)

Myriad Genetics Inc. (Nasdaq: MYGN) 17.5% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.37, versus the analyst estimate of $0.22. Revenue for the quarter was $86.1 million, versus the consensus of $86.72 million. The stock was upgraded to Buy at Canaccord Adams and had its price target raised at Benchmark.

Isle of Capri Casinos (Nasdaq: ISLE) 14.5% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS from continuing operations of $0.02, versus the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter was $259.9 million, versus the consensus of $273.44 million.

Newcastle Investment (NYSE: NCT) 14.3% HIGHER; jumping today on no news. The stock has already traded 2.4 million times, which compares to its average daily volume of just 449,000.

Dycom Industries, Inc. (NYSE: DY) 12% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.23, 8 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $269.7 million vs. $273.87 million consensus.

Willdan Group (Nasdaq: WLDN) 9.3% LOWER; correcting today following a 117% jump yesterday on news of a $67 million contract from ConEdison.
