Leading U.S. Companies to Launch Broad New Initiative Calling for Federal Clean Energy and Climate Legislation

Several top U.S. corporations will hold a phone-based news conference at 12:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 to announce a new initiative to show business support for the U.S. Congress to enact meaningful and effective energy and climate change legislation. Participating companies say the effort fills a gap in the current debate by creating a simple platform by which businesses of any size and sector can make their own voices clear by adding their name to the list of companies that support prompt legislative action.

The name of the new group, its mission, initial membership list, and website URL will be announced at the news conference.
