Jacobs Engineering Group (JEC) Announces Recent Contracts and Acquisitions

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) received a contract with the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority to design the new Manor Expressway interchange at US 183 in Travis County, Texas. This is a design-bid-build project with a fully-directional interchange and an estimated construction cost of approximately $80 million. Jacobs officials did not disclose the contract value.

Also, Jacobs Engineering has acquired L.E.S. Engineering Limited (LES), a 700-person national maintenance, construction and service works contractor headquartered in Grimsby, U.K., specializing in mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical installations for the process and utility industries. Grimsby is in the Humber Bank region of North East England, an industrial area where the Humber River meets the North Sea. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Separately, Jacobs Engineering received a contract to provide detailed design, construction, and maintenance support to MPact for the construction of a $1.1 billion extension to the light rail Metrolink system in Manchester, U.K. The new lines will add nearly 20 miles and 26 passenger stops to the system. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
