Helicos BioSciences (NASDAQ: HLCS) announced today that its Board has appointed Steve Lombardi as the company's CEO, effective immediately. Lombardi succeeds Stan Lapidus who will continue as Chairman of Helicos. Lombardi, who will retain the position of President, has served as President and COO of the company since October 2007.
