Compass Point upgraded NCR Corp. (NYSE: NCR) from Neutral to Buy with a price target of $30.00 (from $24.00)
Analyst, Douglas Greiner, said, "Ahead of 2Q2012 results, we are upgrading our rating...Our price target, however, now embeds multiple expansion stemming from expected earnings growth and reduced pension complexity. Previously, we did not assume multiple expansion, but rather extrapolated the current forward multiple of 9x."
"NCR appears well positioned for growth over the next several years, particularly following the divestiture of the Entertainment business, which was running at an operating loss of $60M per year. Specifically, the company's 2015 target is to achieve adjusted EPS in the range of $3.65-$4.25 versus $2.06 in 2011, implying 15-20% growth per year over the cycle." (See Q2 EPS of $0.56 and revs of $1.465B
