In a 13G filing this afternoon on Inverness Medical Innovations Inc. (AMEX: IMA), Atticus Capital LP disclosed a 5.45% stake (2,537,806 shares) in the company. This is up from the 1,519,400 share stake the firm held at the quarter ended March 31, 2007.
While the 13G indicates a passive stance, Atticus Capital is known as an activist investor.
Inverness recently won a bidding war for Biosite (Nasdaq: BSTE).
