3Com Corporation (NASDAQ: COMS) 36% HIGHER; HP (NYSE: HPQ) announced plans to acquire 3Com for $7.90 per share in cash or an enterprise value of approximately $2.7 billion. The terms of the transaction have been approved by the HP and 3Com boards of directors. HP anticipates that the transaction will be slightly dilutive to fiscal 2010 non-GAAP earnings. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of calendar 2010.
Jamba, Inc. (NASDAQ: JMBA) 12.7% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.04, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.00. Revenue for the quarter was $79 million, which compares to the estimate of $74.32 million.
China Grentech Corp Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRRF) 10.5% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.12, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.07. Revenue for the quarter was $57.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $56.87 million.
Ctrip.com International, Ltd. (NASDAQ: CTRP) 9% HIGHER; reports Q3 adjusted EPS of $0.44, 12 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.32. Revenue for the quarter was $80 million, which compares to the estimate of $72.23 million. Sees Q409 revs of $72.6 - $75.5 million, versus $75.8 million consensus.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMCR) 8.7% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.34, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.33. Revenue for the quarter was $222.2 million, which compares to the estimate of $216.62 million.
Pioneer Drilling Company (AMEX: PDC) 8% LOWER; today announced that it is publicly offering up to 3.82 million shares of its common stock pursuant to the Company's effective shelf registration statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Jefferies & Company, Inc. will serve as the sole underwriter for this offering. The Company has granted the underwriter an over-allotment option to purchase up to 573,000 additional shares of common stock at the public offering price, less underwriting discount and commission, within 30 days. The offering is subject to market conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering. The Company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include capital expenditures, working capital, acquisitions or the repayment or refinancing of indebtedness.
Boise Inc. (NYSE: BZ) 7.9% LOWER; today announced plans for a secondary offering of 17 million shares of common stock. Pursuant to the offering, all of the shares will be sold by the selling stockholders, Boise Cascade Holdings, L.L.C., and trusts affiliated with Jason Weiss, one of Boise Inc.'s directors. All proceeds of the offering will go to the selling stockholders.
Youbet.com (NASDAQ: UBET) 7.2% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.03, ex-items, inline with the analyst estimate of $0.03. Revenue for the quarter was $27.9 million, which compares to the estimate of $28.11 million.
LJ International Inc. (Nasdaq: JADE) 6.6% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.05, compared to $0.02 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $26.2 million, versus $33 million in Q308. Raises its Q4 sales guidance to over $30 million and its EPS guidance to over $0.08. For FY09, sales are expected to exceed $100 million, with EPS of $0.14.
Oncothyreon Inc. (NASDAQ: ONTY) 6% LOWER; reports Q3 loss of $0.24, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.15). Revenue for the quarter was $4,000, which compares to the estimate of $20,000.
Brocade (Nasdaq: BRCD) 5.2% LOWER; falling amid the HP/3Com deal. Previously, Brocade was thought to be a great takeover target for HP.
Tetra Tech (NASDAQ: TTEK) 5.2% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.33, inline with the analyst estimate of $0.33. Revenue for the quarter was $367 million, which compares to the estimate of $356.17 million. Sees Q1 EPS of $0.28-$0.30, versus the consensus of $0.., on sales of $330-$345 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $ million. Sees FY09 sales of $1.45-$1.55 billion, versus the Street estimate of $1.38 billion.
Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) 3.4% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $1.40, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $1.35. Revenue for the quarter was $4 billion, which compares to the estimate of $4.01 billion. Reaffirms outlook.
Danaos Corp. (NYSE: DAC) 3% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.30, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.26. Revenue for the quarter was $79.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $81.26 million.
Advance Auto Parts (NYSE: AAP) 2.9% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.65, versus the analyst estimate of $0.66. Revenue for the quarter was $1.26 billion, which compares to the estimate of $1.26 billion.
