ADC Delivers Advanced Services Delivery Solutions Demonstrations at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT)(www.adc.com) today announced its presence at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo, taking place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, June 25-27. ADC will be featuring its multiple system operator (MSO) solutions for the delivery of high-quality advanced voice, video, data and wireless services to residential and small business customers.
"Cable operators are heavily investing in infrastructure upgrades to accommodate subscribers' affinity for 24/7 access to bandwidth-intensive services," said Jaxon Lang, vice president Global Connectivity Solutions Americas for ADC. "ADC offers flexible, reliable and affordable equipment that can help cable operators scale and manage the complexities of their infrastructures so they can upgrade and expand to meet any future demands."
ADC's decades of experience in building carrier-class networks around the world help cable operators plan, deploy and maintain multivendor headends, hubs and data centers.
ADC will be displaying its complete infrastructure solutions and commercial services portfolio that address critical issues for cable operators upgrading to high-bandwidth services, including video on demand (VoD), HDTV, switched digital video and DOCSIS 3.0. ADC also will be featuring its upgrade option from Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) to Wavelength-Division-Multiplexed Passive Optical Network (WDM-PON).
VoD/HDTV Rollouts
ADC's fiber, audio and video, and RF signal management products can expand an operator's headend for higher bandwidth in the outside plant. MSOs can alleviate cable congestion concerns by implementing ADC's management systems to preserve signal and network integrity without disrupting data traffic associated with advanced services such as HDTV and VoD.
DOCSIS 3.0 Upgrades
ADC can install, upgrade and maintain equipment from major manufacturers for cable modem transport system (CMTS) upgrades to DOCSIS 3.0. As IP-based data takes up a larger part of the headend and data centers evolve to enable data-intensive services, MSOs can rely on ADC's solutions to transport traffic from service providers to each server and onto the CMTS to customers.
ADC PONy Express(TM)
A new WDM-PON application is ADC's Passive Optical Network over wavelengths (PONy) Express access transport platform that optimizes fiber capacity by providing an easy upgrade from GPON to WDM-PON. While a passive optical network typically shares fiber and bandwidth among multiple end users, WDM-PON systems allocate separate wavelengths to each subscriber, enabling the delivery of more bandwidth per subscriber.
