Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) and Allergan (NYSE: AGN) are considering a merger the Wall Street Journal reported late Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Pfizer has approached Allergan about a deal. Talks are said to be in the early stages and may not lead to a deal.
Allergan has a market cap of $113 billion versus $219 billion for Pfizer.
