Shares of online travel companies priceline.com (Nasdaq: PCLN) and Expedia Inc. (Nasdaq: EXPE) are a weaker Tuesday following reports Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) could be getting in the travel business.
Today, Apple was awarded a patent for an application called iTravel, according to reports at CNet. The application would allow users to make reservations which can be shared with others. It could also be used to check luggage.
Apple is up fractionally Tuesday, while priceline.com is down 1.7 percent and Expedia is down 3 percent.
