January 4, 2012 3:49 PM EST
Today is the last day for trading of bankrupt airline AMR Corporation (NYSE: AMR) on the NYSE. Shares will be delisted from the big board and will resume trading on the pink sheets starting Thursday.

The new ticker symbol will be "AAMRQ" (OTC: AAMRQ) on the pink sheets.

Shares will beging trading under this new symbol starting at 9:30AM ET, according to officials at pink sheets.

The bankrupt carrier is down 48 percent since announcing the NYSE delisting.

AMR said in the past it cannot predict what the ultimate value of any of its securities may be, and it remains too early to determine whether holders of any such securities will receive any distribution in the Chapter 11 reorganization. In particular, in most Chapter 11 cases, holders of equity securities receive little or no recovery of value from their investment.

AMR last traded at $0.27 on the NYSE.
