Solutia Inc. (NYSE: SOA) 39.62% HIGHER; Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE: EMN) and the company today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement, under which Eastman will acquire Solutia, a global leader in performance materials and specialty chemicals. Under the terms of the agreement, Solutia stockholders will receive $22.00 in cash and 0.12 shares of Eastman common stock for each share of Solutia common stock.

Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: INFI) 38.19% LOWER; is getting clammed Friday, following a release from the company that it will voluntarily stop the trial of its double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2 study comparing saridegib (also known as IPI-926) in combination with gemcitabine to placebo plus gemcitabine in 122 patients with previously untreated, metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Datawatch Corp. (Nasdaq: DWCH) 34.82% HIGHER; company reported solid Q1 results with EPS of $0.09, versus $0.04 reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $6.27 million, versus $4.18 million reported last year.

Riverbed Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: RVBD) 20.38% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.25, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.24. Revenue for the quarter came in at $203 million versus the consensus estimate of $200.8 million. Sees Q1 sales of $183-$187 million, vs. the consensus of $197.11 million. Sees Q1 EPS of 19-20c, vs. cons. of 25c. Sees FY12 sales growth 17-20 percent.

Cepheid, Inc. (NASDAQ: CPHD) 20.29% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.14, $0.13 better than the analyst estimate of $0.01. Revenue for the quarter came in at $80.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $73.7 million. Sees FY2012 EPS of $0.55-$0.60, versus the consensus of $0.39. Sees FY2012 revenue of $333-$347 million, versus the consensus of $333.3 million. Raymond James upgraded the stock also.

Inergy (Nasdaq: NRGY) 19.64% LOWER; initiated a $0.705 per share quarterly distribution. The stock was downgraded to Underperform at Raymond James earlier.

China Medical Tech. (Nasdaq: CMED) 19.34% LOWER; Fitch downgraded the company to RD.

Uroplasty, Inc. (NASDAQ: UPI) 17.10% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of ($0.05), $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.08). Revenue for the quarter came in at $5.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $5.42 million. The stock was downgraded at JMP earlier.

Emulex Corp. (NYSE: ELX) 15.01% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.26, $0.04 better than the analyst estimate of $0.22. Revenue for the quarter came in at $128.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $126.51 million. Sees Q3 EPS $0.17-$0.19 versus the consensus of $0.15. Sees Q1 sales between $121-$125 million, versus the consensus of $124 million.

Informatica Corp (NASDAQ: INFA) 14.45% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.38, $0.06 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.44. Revenue for the quarter came in at $227.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $226.25 million. Expects to report Q1 EPS of 31-34 cents on sales of $187-$197 million. The Street is currently looking for Q1 EPS of 33 cents on sales of $195.4 million. Cuts FY12 EPS from $1.57-$1.67 to $1.54-$1.64, which compares to the Street estimate of $1.65. Affirms sales guidance of $880-$910 million.

WMS Industries, Inc. (NYSE: WMS) 14.09% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.29, $0.01 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.30. Revenue for the quarter came in at $162.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $170.99 million.
