Solutia Inc. (NYSE: SOA) 39.62% HIGHER; Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE: EMN) and the company today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement, under which Eastman will acquire Solutia, a global leader in performance materials and specialty chemicals. Under the terms of the agreement, Solutia stockholders will receive $22.00 in cash and 0.12 shares of Eastman common stock for each share of Solutia common stock.
Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: INFI) 38.19% LOWER; is getting clammed Friday, following a release from the company that it will voluntarily stop the trial of its double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled Phase 2 study comparing saridegib (also known as IPI-926) in combination with gemcitabine to placebo plus gemcitabine in 122 patients with previously untreated, metastatic pancreatic cancer.
