Sophiris Bio Inc. (Nasdaq: SPHS) 31.5% LOWER; announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 6,500,000 of its common shares and related warrants to purchase 4,875,000 of its common shares with an exercise price of $4.00 per share, offered at a combined price to the public of $4.00 per share and related warrant.
Astrotech Corporation (Nasdaq: ASTC) 22.2% HIGHER; subsidiary 1st Detect Corporation and strategic partner Battelle Memorial Institute completed the Brassboard Phase and were awarded the Final Prototype Phase of the US military’s Next Generation Chemical Detector (NGCD) Multi-Sample Identifier (MSI) Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction Program. During this upcoming phase, 1st Detect will deliver multiple OEM-1000NG Core Analyzer units for integration into Battelle’s NGCD prototype solution.
Daktronics (Nasdaq: DAKT) 19.5% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.13, $0.08 better than the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter came in at $157.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $146.75 million.
Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) 19.0% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.57, $0.14 better than the analyst estimate of $0.43. Revenue for the quarter came in at $8.53 billion versus the consensus estimate of $8.4 billion. Comps rose 0.8 percent, versus expectations of a 0.5 percent drop.
Kirkland's (Nasdaq: KIRK) 18.4% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of ($0.22), $0.01 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.21). Revenue for the quarter came in at $123 million versus the consensus estimate of $125.54 million. Kirkland's sees FY2016 EPS of $0.70-$0.80, versus the consensus of $0.99.
Zoes Kitchen (NYSE: ZOES) 18.0% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.06, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.06. Revenue for the quarter came in at $66.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $67.28 million. Comps rose 4 percent, versus at 5.1 percent gain expected.
Lpath (Nasdaq: LPTN) 18.0% LOWER; filed a registration with the U.S. SEC to sell up to $10 million of mixed securities.
Amedica (Nasdaq: AMDA) 14.1% HIGHER; was awarded FDA 510(k) premarket notification for its Intervertebral Fusion Device With Bone Graft.
Tableau Software, Inc. (NYSE: DATA) 13.5% LOWER; announced that it has appointed Adam Selipsky as president and chief executive officer effective September 16. Christian Chabot, Tableau's co-founder and current CEO, will continue to serve as chairman of Tableau's board of directors.
Antares Pharma (Nasdaq: ATRS) 13.0% LOWER; seeing strong trading on volume.
Raven Industries (Nasdaq: RAVN) 11.7% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.12, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.09. Revenue for the quarter came in at $68 million versus the consensus estimate of $67.5 million.
