Xfone (NYSE: XFN) 28% HIGHER; the stock is continuing higher today following a 15% jump yesterday. Technicians may be buying the stock today on a possible breakout as it seems that the $1.50 level previously served as a strong level of technical resistance.

Republic First Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: FRBK) 26.8% LOWER; Metro Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: METR) and Republic First announced that their boards of directors have voted to terminate their merger agreement, dated November 7, 2008, because of uncertainties regarding regulatory approval of the application for the merger.

BioTime, Inc. (Amex: BTIM) 26.4% HIGHER; today announced the publication of a scientific paper titled "Spontaneous Reversal of Developmental Aging in Normal Human Cells Following Transcriptional Reprogramming." The article was released online today in the peer-reviewed journal Regenerative Medicine in advance of the print publication. The demonstration that the aging of human cells can be reversed may have significant implications for the development of new classes of cell-based therapies targeting age-related degenerative disease.

W Holding Company (NYSE: WHI) 24.4% LOWER; the WSJ is reporting that the FDIC has hired an investment bank to try to find capital or outright purchasers for the company.

United Western Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: UWBK) 24.1% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $1.40, versus the analyst estimate of $0.09. Names Charles Caswell as its new CFO.

eOn Communications (Nasdaq: EONC) 20.5% LOWER; reported quarterly sales of $3.5 million which compares to sales of $1.31 million in the same quarter last year. The company's net loss came to $0.09 per share, which compares to the $0.14 reported in the same quarter last year.

Sequenom (NASDAQ: SQNM) 19.7% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $0.30, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.25). Revenue for the quarter was $10.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $9.10 million. The stock was also downgraded to Underweight at Stephens & Co.

BIOLASE Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLTI) 19.5% HIGHER; today announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. FDA to market its iLase diode laser, the world's first personal laser for dentists and hygienists for performing a full-range of minimally invasive soft-tissue and hygiene procedures. The Orchard (NASDAQ: ORCD) 19.3% HIGHER; announced today that it has entered into a definitive merger agreement with Dimensional Associates, LLC, a private equity affiliate of JDS Capital, L.P. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Dimensional Associates will acquire all of the common stock of The Orchard not currently owned by it or its affiliates for $2.05 per share and stockholders will also receive a contingent right to receive additional consideration, under certain circumstances post-closing if Dimensional Associates or any of its affiliates enters into a commitment to sell at least 80% of The Orchard’s voting securities or assets within six months of the consummation of the merger.

Town Sports Intl (NASDAQ: CLUB) 16.8% HIGHER; reports Q4 loss of $0.33, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.10). Revenue for the quarter was $114.3 million, which compares to the estimate of $113.53 million. Sees Q110 sales $117 - $118 million, versus $116.9 million consensus. Sees Q1 loss of $0.03-$0.06, vs. the consensus of a loss of $0.01.
