Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 12/24: LCAPA, PLD, RMBS, VLY Higher; KV, YRCW, EPIX, VIP Lower

Liberty Media (Nasdaq: LCAPA) 44.9% HIGHER; seeing upside today following news yesterday after the close that a Director, Paul Gould purchased 127,000 shares at prices ranging from $3.30-$3.42.

K-V Pharmaceutical (NYSE: KV.A) 27% LOWER; continues falling today following news yesterday that it will suspend distribution of all tablet products due to manufacturing and quality assurance concerns. This morning, Gabelli & Co. downgraded the stock from Buy to Hold.

ProLogis (NYSE: PLD) 26.7% HIGHER; announces proceeds of $1.26 billion from selling of operations in China. The stock was also upgraded by Wachovia to Outperform and by Deutsche Bank to Buy this morning.

YRC Worldwide (Nasdaq: YRCW) 23.2% LOWER; announced that it is in talks to amend terms of its credit facilities and also issued an updated Q4 outlook. Also, Moody's downgraded the company's credit rating.

EPIX Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: EPIX) 15.1% LOWER; shares seem to be correcting today after a 275% gain on Monday following news that the FDA approved marketing of its Vasovist product.

Rambus (Nasdaq: RMBS) 13.4% HIGHER; shares are bouncing today following a 6% decline yesterday. The stock is trading higher today on unusually heavy volume.

Valley National Bancrop (NYSE: VLY) 11.3% HIGHER; will replace FLIR Systems (Nasdaq: FLIR) in the S&P MidCap 400 after the close on Wednesday, December 31.

Vimpel-Communications (NYSE: VIP) 9.8% LOWER; gapped substantially lower this morning, but we are not hearing any news that would justify the move.

Omega Healthcare (NYSE: OHI) 9.7% HIGHER; will replace SCANA (NYSE: SCG) in the S&P MidCap 400.

CIT Group (NYSE: CIT) 9.4% LOWER; after trading as much as 11% higher on news that it has received approval to become a bank holding company, the stock is losing momentum today as investors are turning less optimistic on the announcement.

General Motors (NYSE: GM) 7.7% HIGHER; correcting today after falling about 15% yesterday. Volume is very light today, even when considering that it is an abbreviated holiday trading session.
