Delphi Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: DFG) 72.6% HIGHER; Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc. and Delphi today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which TMHD will acquire all outstanding shares of Delphi, a leading financial services holding company comprised of specialty life and property & casualty insurance and insurance-related businesses, for $43.875 per Class A share and $52.875 per Class B share in cash, through TMHD's wholly owned subsidiary, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. In addition, Delphi shareholders will receive $1.00 in cash per share pursuant to a one-time special dividend from Delphi for each share of Class A and Class B stock they own.
Westway Group Inc. (Nasdaq: WWAY) 28.2% HIGHER; management announced it received an unsolicited proposal from an infrastructure investment fund to acquire Westway. The offer, which was made contingent upon the consummation of the previously announced proposed transaction to sell Westway Feed Products and certain non-core bulk liquid storage terminals, was for $6.00 per common share, $6.00 for each outstanding Series A Convertible Preferred Share and $1.00 for each outstanding Founder Warrant. Management stated the offer undervalued the company’s business and its future prospects.
Delcath (Nasdaq: DCTH) 20.6% HIGHER; announced today that it has appointed Gregory Gores, M.D. to the Company's Medical Advisory Board.
China Ming Yang Wind Power Group Limited (NYSE: MY) 20% HIGHER; announced its intention to continue purchasing shares pursuant to its previously announced share repurchase program. The company’s CEO, Mr. Chuanwei Zhang, has also initiated a program to purchase Ming Yang American Depository Shares on the open market. The new purchase program is valued at $50 million.
Sinovac Biotech (Nasdaq: SVA) 18.3% HIGHER; after trading below a support level at $2.25, shares are beginning to gain back some of the losses it encountered since the beginning of the month. On December 6th, shares peaked for the month at $2.87.
Ampio Pharma (Nasdaq: AMPE) 18.2% LOWER; prices 2.22 million common shares at $4.25 per share.
CommVault (Nasdaq: CVLT) 17.9% LOWER; falling well below the 200-day and resistance at both $46 and $40 shares are now trading in the $37 to $38 range on extremely high volumes.
SemiLEDS (Nasdaq: LEDS) 17.3% HIGHER; seems to be bouncing over the 200-day SMA today. Shares traded in the red for the majority of this morning's session until the stock started ramping over the technical level.
Oracle Corp (NASDAQ: ORCL) 13.7% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.54, $0.03 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.57. Revenue for the quarter came in at $8.8 billion versus the consensus estimate of $9.23 billion. Authorized added $5 billion buyback. Sees Q3 sales up 1-5% in US dollars, or 3-7% in constant currency. Sees Q3 adj-EPS of 55-58c in US dollars, 56-59c constant currency. The stock was downgraded at Credit Agricole, Canaccord Genuity and France's SocGen.
KiOR Inc. (Nasdaq: KIOR) 12.6% LOWER; shares broke below its 200 day moving average today and plunged further after unsuccessfully testing the $10.50 support level.
Informatica (Nasdaq: INFA) 12.2% LOWER; traders probably selling amid the concerning Oracle report. After gapping below $40, the stock saw some consolidation near the $37 level, however has slipped since then. Volume is heavy.
