Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 11/25: RTK, QADI, QBC, KBX Higher; BNHNA, DRAM, TBH, CWTR Lower

Rentech (AMEX: RTK) 36% HIGHER; hearing reports from AdelaideNow that SYNGAS has teamed up with the company and General Electric to progress South Australia's $3 billion coal-biomass-to-diesel Clinton project.

Benihana Inc. (NASDAQ: BNHNA) 32.6% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.07, versus the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter was $69.3 million, which compares to the estimate of $69.36 million. Also announced a $30 million mixed securities shelf. The stock was downgraded to Equalweight at Stephens.

QAD (NASDAQ: QADI) 31% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.15, versus the analyst estimate of $0.02. Revenue for the quarter was $56.2 million, which compares to the estimate of $53.80 million. Sees Q4 EPS of $0.13, versus the consensus of $0.03. Sees FY10 EPS of about $0.15, versus the Street estimate of $0.02.

Dataram Corporation (NASDAQ: DRAM) 22.3% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.18, compared to ($0.04) in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $10.67 million, versus $7.06 million in Q209.

Brazilian Telecommunications Corp. (NYSE: TBH) 18.3% LOWER; correcting today following yesterday's 47% jump. The NYSE issued a statement on TBH yesterday, responding to the unusual market activity.

Cubic Energy, Inc. (Amex: QBC) 17.8% HIGHER; announces that it has entered into transactions with Tauren Exploration, Inc. and an affiliate of Tauren, both of which are entities controlled by Calvin Wallen III, the Chief Executive Officer of the Company, under which Cubic has acquired $30,952,810 in pre-paid drilling credits applicable towards the development of its Haynesville Shale rights in Northwest Louisiana.

Coldwater Creek (NASDAQ: CWTR) 16.1% LOWER; reports Q3 adj-loss of $0.04, 7 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.03. Revenue for the quarter was $266.7 million, which compares to the estimate of $232.24 million.

Kimber Resources (AMEX: KBX) 15.9% HIGHER; since providing a new mineral resource estimate for the Carmen Deposit at its Monterde project on Nov. 18, the stock has seen strong momentum, rising by about 74%. Volume continues to be very heavy.

Somaxon Pharma (Nasdaq: SOMX) 15.7% HIGHER; not hearing any company-specific news today. Volume is very heavy: the stock has already changed hands 2 million times, which compares to the average daily volume of just 227,000 shares.

QLT Inc. (NASDAQ: QLTI) 12.2% HIGHER; today announced the settlement of its litigation with the General Hospital Corporation, doing business as Massachusetts General Hospital. Under the terms of the settlement agreement, QLT will pay $20 million to MGH as payment in full for all past and future royalty obligations under the License Agreement between QLT and MGH, in exchange for the dismissal with prejudice of MGH's lawsuit against QLT pending in the Massachusetts District Court for violation of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 93A, sections 2 and 11.

Conn's, Inc. (NASDAQ: CONN) 11.7% LOWER; reports adjusted Q3 loss of $0.29, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.04). Revenue for the quarter was $182.8 million, which compares to the estimate of $191.67 million.
