Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 11/24: IWA, DRAM, ABG, TIXC Higher; WH, WMG, ABIO, NYNY Lower
Iowa Telecommunications Services, Inc. (NYSE: IWA) 24.7% HIGHER; Windstream Corporation (NYSE: WIN) announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire IWA, based in Newton, Iowa, in a transaction valued at approximately $1.1 billion. Iowa Telecom shareholders will receive 0.804 shares of Windstream stock and $7.90 in cash per each Iowa Telecom share under terms of the agreement approved by the boards of directors of both companies.
WSP Holdings Ltd (NYSE: WH) 21.5% LOWER; reports Q3 loss of $0.11, compared to $0.29 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $90.2 million, which compares to the estimate of $141.56 million.
Warner Music Group (NYSE: WMG) 20.1% LOWER; reports Q4 loss of $0.12, versus the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter was $861 million, which compares to the estimate of $820.29 million.
Arca BioPharma (Nasdaq: ABIO) 19.9% LOWER; correcting following yesterday's 92% surge on news that the FDA has ok'd Gencaro for the Fast Track program.
Dataram (Nasdaq: DRAM) 16.5% HIGHER; the stock appears to be moving on technicals as volume and momentum has increased as the stock has approached, and now, broken through the $5 level. Since the beginning of August, shares of Dataram are up 260%.
Asbury Automotive (NYSE: ABG) 14.2% HIGHER; Deutsche Bank upgrades the stock from Hold to Buy. Price target to $14.50 from $13.50. Click here to see more color on the upgrade.
Empire Resorts (Nasdaq: NYNY) 13.3% LOWER; continuing lower following yesterday's 20% slide amid a vote against pursing off-reservation gaming in Catskills.
eLong Inc. (NASDAQ: LONG) 12.9% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.04, 7 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.03). Revenue for the quarter was $15.12 million, which compares to the estimate of $12.85 million.
Tix Corp. (Nasdaq: TIXC) 11.6% HIGHER; seems to be correcting today following a nearly 52% decline over the last 5 trading sessions prior to today. On Thursday of last week, a call to the company returned the response, "unaware of reason behind stock decline".
Green Plains Renewable Energy (Nasdaq: GPRE) 10.7% HIGHER; continuing higher following a 23% jump on Friday. The stock continues to smash through technical barriers, breaking above $10 on that day, and over the $12 and $13 levels today. Notably, the company disclosed several very small insider purchases last night.
AgFeed (Nasdaq: FEED) 10.6% HIGHER; trading higher given continued momentum in Origin Agritech (Nasdaq: SEED), which is up another 6% today (following yesterday's double).
