LandAmerica Financial Group (NYSE: LFG) 90% HIGHER; Fidelity National Financial (NYSE: FNF) and LandAmerica announced the signing of a definitive merger agreement under which FNF will acquire LFG. Under the terms of the merger agreement, LFG shareholders will receive 0.993 shares of FNF common stock for each share of LFG common stock.

Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSYS) 39.8% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.75, versus the analyst estimate of $0.26. Revenue for the quarter was $105.5 million, versus the consensus of $85.53 million. Sees FY08 revs of about $385 million, versus the consensus of $369.14 million.

Genworth Financial, Inc. (NYSE: GNW) 39.8% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.51, 4 cents below the analyst estimate of $0.55. Revenue for the quarter was $2.17 billion, versus the consensus of $3.07 billion. Genworth suspends dividend and buyback. Also, suspends giving a 2008 outlook.

Delta Petroleum Corporation (NASDAQ: DPTR) 34.1% LOWER; Tracinda Corporation announced last night that it has determined not to proceed with its previously announced tender offer for 14 million shares of Delta common stock. Tracinda cited the steep decline in the price of the Delta shares and the continued uncertainty in the capital and stock markets as factors contributing to its decision.

AutoNation (NYSE: AN) 29.1% HIGHER; after reporting a Q3 earnings miss yesterday, the stock traded fell about 5%, but today is surging even as Ford (NYSE: F) and General Motors (NYSE: GM) posted massive losses for their Q3's.

The Knot (Nasdaq: KNOT) 28.6% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.07, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.03. Revenue for the quarter was $27 million, versus the consensus of $26.97 million. Stifel Nicolaus also upgraded the stock to Buy earlier.

Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) 27.4% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $1.01, 10 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.91. Revenue for the quarter was $5.7 billion, versus the consensus of $5.80 billion. Sees FY08 EPS of $3.70-$3.80, versus the consensus of $3.52 and FY09 EPS of $3.90-$4.20, versus the consensus of $4.01.

Luminex Corp (Nasdaq: LMNX) 25.7% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.08, 7 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.01. Revenue for the quarter was $28.9 million, versus the consensus of $25.03 million.

NIC (Nasdaq: EGOV) 23.8% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.05, versus the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter was $24.9 million, versus the consensus of $24.90 million.

Sunrise Senior Living, Inc. (NYSE: SRZ) 21.7% LOWER; reports Q3 loss of $1.36, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.38). Revenue for the quarter was $436 million, versus the consensus of $435.46 million.

Insight Enterprises, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSIT) 18.9% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.15, versus the analyst estimate of $0.15. Revenue for the quarter was $1.17 billion, versus the consensus of $1.14 billion.
