Alkermes plc (Nasdaq: ALKS) 29.4% HIGHER; announced positive topline results from FORWARD-5, the third phase 3 efficacy study to read out from the FORWARD pivotal program for ALKS 5461, a once-daily, oral investigational medicine with a novel mechanism of action for the adjunctive treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in patients with an inadequate response to standard antidepressant therapies. The study met its prespecified primary endpoint showing treatment with ALKS 5461 significantly reduced symptoms of depression in patients with MDD compared to placebo. ALKS 5461 was generally well tolerated.
Concordia International (Nasdaq: CXRX) 23.1% HIGHER; seeing positive trading action on a high-volume session.
Moleculin Biotech, Inc. (Nasdaq: MBRX) 21.0% LOWER; pulling back following a 61 percent gain on Thursday.
Supreme Industries (NYSE: STS) 22.0% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.29, $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of $0.26. Revenue for the quarter came in at $74.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $70 million.
Northwest Biotherapeutics (Nasdaq: NWBO) 18.2% LOWER; announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with an institutional investor for a registered direct offering with gross proceeds of approximately $5million. The proceeds will be used in connection with upcoming Phase II clinical trials.
Skechers USA (NYSE: SKX) 17.2% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.42, $0.05 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.47. Revenue for the quarter came in at $942.4 million versus the consensus estimate of $954.38 million. Skechers USA sees Q4 2016 revenue of $710-735 million, versus the consensus of $799.9 million.
Cerecor (Nasdaq: CERC) 15.9% HIGHER; gaining in concert with Alkermes today.
Windtree Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: WINT) 14.7% HIGHER; announced that it will host a conference call and webcast (including a slide presentation) at 8:00 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 to provide updates on the AEROSURF phase 2 clinical program and the lung deposition study in non-human primates.
Everyday Health, Inc. (NYSE: EVDY) 11.2% HIGHER; announced that it has entered into a definitive merger agreement with Ziff Davis, LLC, a leading digital media company in the technology, gaming and lifestyle categories, which comprises the Digital Media Division of j2 Global. Under the terms of the agreement, Ziff Davis will acquire Everyday Health for $10.50 per share in cash, representing an approximate enterprise value of $465 million.
