Alexza Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALXA) 55.5% LOWER; received a Complete Response Letter from the FDA regarding its NDA for AZ-004 for the rapid treatment of agitation in schizophrenia or bipolar disorder patients. The CRL indicated that application is not ready for approval, with the FDA stating that their primary clinical safety concern was related to data from three Phase I pulmonary safety studies with AZ-004.

Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASTI) 29.7% HIGHER; has become the first manufacturer of thin-film flexible monolithically integrated CIGS modules to receive full IEC 61646 certification upon completion of environmental testing. Additionally, raised guidance from LDK Solar earlier has the entire solar group higher today.

Art's-Way Manufacturing (Nasdaq: ARTW) 26.1% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.19, versus $0.02 reported for the same period a year ago. Revenue for the quarter was $10.58 million, compared to $5.6 million in Q309. On a year-over-year basis, sales surged nearly 89% while net income rose a jaw-dropping 1,061%.

Gymboree (Nasdaq: GYMB) 22.7% HIGHER; to be acquired by Bain Capital for $65.40/share, deal valued at $1.8 billion. Click here to see the full report.

China Shen Zhou Mining & Resources (AMEX: SHZ) 20.9% HIGHER; since pushing over the $1 level late Thursday of last week, the stock has climbed by more than 30%. With metals prices rising sharply lately (and gold at consistently new all-time highs), traders may be buying this Chinese stock as a momentum play on the broader view.

Harbin Electric (Nasdaq: HRBN) 18.2% HIGHER; receives offer to be purchased by its chairman Tianfu Yang and Baring Private Equity Asia Group Limited for $24/share. Click here to see the full report.

American Reprographics (NYSE:
ARP) 16.9% LOWER; lowers its FY10 EPS guidance from 15c - 30c to 4c - 9c, which compares to the Street estimate of 15c. The new guidance excludes any one-time charges. The company cites weaker-than-expected demand.

LDK Solar (NYSE: LDK) 16.3% HIGHER; sees third quarter revenue in the range of $610 to $640 million, versus prior guidance of $570 to $600 million and above the consensus of $580.62 million. LDK expects wafer shipments of 550 to 570 megawatts (MW), and module shipments of 80 MW to 90 MW. This compares to prior guidance of wafer shipments of 520 to 550 MW, and module shipments of 75 to 85 MW.

Venoco (NYSE: VQ) 14.4% LOWER; sees '10 production at 18,600 boe/day, sees '11 production of 19,500 boe/day. Also announces an "at-the-market" offering for up to $75 million in common shares.

Tongxin International Ltd. (Nasdaq: TXIC) 8.3% LOWER; missing the Chinese small-cap rally today, and hitting a 52-week low of $3.48, but no real news is moving the shares. The stock saw some selling pressure early, and buyers haven't been able to reignite shares today. Notably, shares have not closed in positive territory since September 30. Over this period, the stock has fallen by about 19% (including today's decline).

SandRidge Energy, Inc. (NYSE: SD) 6.5% LOWER; lower today following a late filing Friday showing CEO Tom Ward selling off 6 million shares at $5.86 per share. 636,754 of the shares were sold indirectly through Solon L. Bloomer Family Partners Limited Partnership II.
