(Nasdaq: BNVID) 56.6% HIGHER; announced that the U.S. FDA accepted the Company's Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls plan for its lead drug candidate, Menerba®, in a Type "B" or "End of Phase 2" meeting. With this designation, the decisions and agreements are now considered binding on the Company and the FDA.
TerreStar (Nasdaq: TSTR) 37.1% HIGHER; the stock is continuing higher today; shares surged 17% on Monday amid news that AT&T (NYSE: T) has launched its SAM Service on TerreStar's GENUS Dual-Mode smartphone. The stock rose another 46% yesterday.
Anthera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANTH) 30.6% HIGHER; saw a massive spike at the $3.60 level today; with shares down more than 50% since early-August, today's move may be a short squeeze. Overall volume is heavy today as well, about 11x the three-month average.
TESSCO Tech. (Nasdaq: TESS) 24.5% HIGHER; shares are breaking out today, possibly above a $3 resistance level. Prior to today's move higher, shares of TESS were up 13% so far this week.
Cadence Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: CADE) 20.7% HIGHER; announced that it has entered a merger with Trustmark (Nasdaq: TRMK) which values the shares a $2.00 per.
Hampton Road Bankshares (Nasdaq: HMPR) 17.4% HIGHER; shares are continuing higher today on what appears to be a technical breakout. Shares rose more than 10% on Monday, another 4% on Tuesday and then about 6.5% yesterday.
Rite Aid Corp. (NYSE: RAD) 13.0% LOWER; reports Q2 adj-loss of $0.18, 1 cent worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.17). Revenue for the quarter was $6.16 billion, which compares to the estimate of $6.21 billion. Comps fell 1.5%. Lowers its FY11 loss guidance from 41-65c to 46-67c, sales guidance lowered from $25.2-$25.6 billion to $25-$25.4 billion.
Constar International Inc. (Nasdaq: CNST) 10.3% LOWER; investors may be pulling some off the table as the stock shot up over 80% since last Friday.
American Apparel Inc (AMEX: APP) 10.0% LOWER; saw pretty good selling at the start today, right around the $1.30 level. Shares are still 77% up from their 52-week low of $0.66.
China Valves Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: CVVT) 8.2% LOWER; downgraded by Piper Jaffray from Overweight to Neutral, with a price target cut from $15 to $8.50.
Copart, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPRT) 8.7% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.43, 5 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.48. Revenue for the quarter was $190.5 million, which compares to the estimate of $202.47 million.
