Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 09/16: CLU, OCNW, DIGA, EDMC, FUQI, FFHL Higher; HOK, IDN, GOK, AEL, CALX Lower

Cellu Tissue Holdings (NYSE: CLU) 49.6% HIGHER; Clearwater Paper (NYSE: CLW) to buy Cellu for about $502 million, including equity value of about $247 million and net debt of about $255 million. The per share price Clearwater will pay is at $12 in cash. Clearwater says it intends to fund the deal with cash on hand and a $350 million debt financing.

Occam Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: OCNW) 34.6% HIGHER; Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) has entered into an agreement to acquire Occam for a total consideration of $171 million, or about $7.75 per share.

Digital Angel Corporation (Nasdaq: DIGA) 20.8% HIGHER; PositiveID Corporation (Nasdaq: PSID) announced today that it has presented an offer to the Digital Angel board of directors to purchase all the outstanding shares of Digital Angel common stock for $0.60 per share.

Education Management (Nasdaq: EDMC) 18.1% HIGHER; traders are cheering comments made by company exec's at the BMO Capital Markets Back to School Education Conference going on today.

FUQI International (Nasdaq: FUQI) 16.6% HIGHER; shares seem to be breaking out above the $5 level over the last two trading sessions. The stock climbed 21% yesterday on very heavy volume. The stock has already traded almost 3.5 million shares.

Fuwei Films (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (Nasdaq: FFHL) 16.5% HIGHER; announced that sales of BOPET films in China increased 10% over the first half of 2010. They note that certain products have seen price increases of over 20% versus H110. They expect their second half results to be markedly improved over results for the first half.

Craft Brewers (Nasdaq: HOOK) 15.2% LOWER; traders are finally taking profits today; over the last 15 trading sessions, the stock has only closed in the red once. Since late August, shares rose as much as 50%.

Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (AMEX: IDN) 10.3% LOWER; might be seeing a little pressure as a Senior Vice President, and CEO's spouse, reported the disposal of 28,000 common shares at a price of $0.46. The transaction was made pursuant to a call right that existed prior to the acquisition of Mobilisa, Inc. by Intelli-Check, Inc.

Geokinetics Inc. (AMEX; GOK) 8.2% LOWER; saw a sharp sell following nat gas and oil data today. The stock recently bounced off a near-term bottom on August 25, 2010.

American Equity Investment Life Holding Co. (NYSE: AEL) 8.1% LOWER; investors selling as the company announced a $150 million convertible senior notes offering, granting the initial purchasers a 13-day option to purchase an additional $50 million aggregate principal amount. AEL has also entered into one or more privately negotiated convertible note hedge transactions with one or more counterparties. AEL as been warned that, in establishing the initial hedges, counterparties may want to exercise the conversion option shortly after the pricing, which may increase or decrease the value of the comapny's stock.

Calix, Inc. (Nasdaq: CALX) 71% LOWER; moving lower today upon entering an agreement to acquire Occam Networks for a total consideration of $171 million.
