Geron Corporation (Nasdaq: GERN) 56.6% LOWER; announced that, on the basis of an unplanned interim analysis, it is discontinuing its randomized Phase 2 study of imetelstat in metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer because median progression-free survival (PFS) in the imetelstat arm was shorter than in the comparator arm.

Nordion Inc. (NYSE: NDZ) 34.7% LOWER; received the decision in the confidential arbitration with Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL). Nordion was unsuccessful in its claim for specific performance or monetary damages relating to AECL’s cancelled construction of the MAPLE facilities.

Zalicus Inc. (Nasdaq: ZLCS) 35.1% LOWER; announced top line results from its randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, Phase 2b clinical trial of Synavive in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The key secondary endpoint of demonstrating a meaningful clinical benefit, assessed by DAS28-CRP, compared to prednisolone 2.7mg, the active glucocorticoid component in Synavive was missed.

General Steel Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GSI) 25.2% HIGHER; moving higher above $1 level as sentiment for miners and metals continues.

KSW, Inc. (Nasdaq: KSW) 22.1% HIGHER; has entered into a definitive merger agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, a subsidiary of Related Companies ("Merger Sub") will acquire all of the outstanding shares of common stock of KSW for $5.00 per share in cash through a cash tender offer followed by a merger.

Titan Machinery (Nasdaq: TITN) 21.5% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.25, $0.18 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.43. Revenue for the quarter came in at $410.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $401.91 million. Sees FY2012 EPS of $2.10-$2.30, versus prior guidance of $2.55-$2.75 and the consensus of $2.64. Titan Machinery reiterated FY2012 revenue of $1.95-$2.10 million, versus the consensus of $2.02 million.

B Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: BCOM) 18.9% HIGHER; expects to Receive Approximately NIS 464 Million in Dividends from Bezeq - The Israel Telecommunication Corp. Ltd., a Controlled Subsidiary of the Registrant, in October 2012.

Rediff.com India (NYSE: REDF) 16.1% HIGHER; gapped-up above the $3 level on volume today. Rediff is at its highest level since July.

Jaguar Mining Inc. (NYSE: JAG) 13.6% HIGHER; announced that David M. Petroff has been appointed as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and has joined the Board of Directors effective immediately.

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq: GILT) 12.5% HIGHER; was notified by FIMI 2007 Ltd. and FIMI V 2012 Ltd., that investment funds managed and controlled by FIMI have purchased from entities controlled by Menorah Mivtahim Holdings Ltd. 4,424,858 of Gilat's shares, representing approximately 10.8% of the Company's issued share capital, at a price of US $3.57 per share.

Plains Exploration & Production Company (NYSE: PXP) 9.5% LOWER; has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire from BP Exploration & Production Inc. and BP America Production Company (NYSE: BP) all of their interests in certain deepwater Gulf of Mexico oil and gas properties for $5.55 billion.
