Spartech Corp. (Nasdaq: SEH) 31.8% LOWER; reports Q3 loss from continuing operations of $0.05, ex-items, which may not compare the analyst estimate of $0.27. Revenue for the quarter was $269.6 million, which compares to the estimate of $268.23 million. Also named Victoria Holt as the company's new President and CEO.
China North East Petroleum Holdings Limited (AMEX: NEP) 17.6% LOWER; the first day that the stock has resumed trading on the NYSE Amex today. Delays and difficulties have plagued the company over the last several months with regards to their financial statements. Investors who hadn't had the chance to exit the stock before, may be doing so now. Shares last traded on May 26, 2010, after falling more than 50% since the start of 2010.
Emmis Communications (Nasdaq: EMMS) 17.3% LOWER; JS Acquisition announced the termination of their acquisition agreement with Emmis. The purchase price was $2.40 per share.
Santarus, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNTS) 17.6% HIGHER; Santarus S2 Therapeutics, Inc. and VeroScience LLC announce today that they have entered into an agreement which would give Santarus exclusive rights to manufacture and commercialize CYCLOSET tabs in the U.S.
Evolution Petroleum Corp (AMEX: EPM) 13.5% HIGHER; made a move higher at 10:30am today, coincident to when EIA petroleum data came out showing a surprise drop in crude inventories by about 1.85 million barrels.
Exact Sciences (Nasdaq: EXAS) 13.3% HIGHER; Jefferies & Co initiates coverage on EXAS with a Buy rating and a price target of $7.
BSD Medical Corp. (Nasdaq: BSDM) 12.3% HIGHER; announced today that their Chinese distributor has ordered two BSD-2000 Hyperthermia Systems.
Adobe Systems (Nasdaq: ADBE) 11.7% HIGHER; could be seeing a lift on news that is relaxing restriction on development tools for Apple apps.
Geron Corporation (Nasdaq: GERN) 8.3% HIGHER; reports that a U.S. court suspended a ban on embryonic stem cell research, also saying that the US can continue to fund stem cell research during this appeal surfaced today.
NetSol Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTWK) 7.7% LOWER; pulling back today after a rally yesterday following the release of the company's fourth quarter results. The company did guide FY11 revs below the Street consensus. Last week, the stock jumped above the $1.00 level on elevated volume, but couldn't sustain the move. The $0.95 mark may be a decent support level.
Netezza Corporation (NYSE: NZ) 7.3% LOWER; another stock pulling back today, but their pullback is from rumors that the company was a prime takeover target. Shares closed 12.4% higher yesterday.
