Verso Paper Corp. (NYSE: VRS) 15.6% LOWER; has decided to cease further discussions with NewPage Corporation or its creditors regarding a potential business combination. Verso President and CEO David Paterson commented, "After careful analysis, we believe it is in the best interests of our company and its stakeholders to focus on the many other opportunities for Verso, including internal growth projects and other potential strategic alternatives."
Francesca's Holdings Corp. (Nasdaq: FRAN) 15.3% LOWER; reported Q2 EPS of $0.28, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.24. Revenue for the quarter came in at $76.37 million versus the consensus estimate of $71.09 million. Comparable boutique sales increased 20.7% following an increase of 5.4% in the same prior year period. Sees Q3 2012 EPS of $0.21-0.22, versus the consensus of $0.19 and revenue of $70.5 million - $71.5 million, versus the consensus of $67.01 million. Also sees FY2012 EPS of $0.96 - $0.98, versus the consensus of $0.91 and revenue of $290 million - $292 million, versus the consensus of $282.16 million.
Pluristem Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: PSTI) 14.1% HIGHER; announced today that treatment was successfully administered to a third patient. The outcome of those treatments potentially suggests that the Company's PLX cells may have significant potential to treat a range of indications of bone marrow diseases.
Repros Therapeutics Inc.
