Esterline Technologies Corp. (NYSE: ESL) 14.4% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $1.21, in-line with the analyst estimate of $1.21. Revenue for the quarter came in at $409.5 million versus the consensus estimate of $418.88 million. Esterline sees FY11 EPS of $4.45 to $4.55. The view was narrowed from prior guidance of $4.40 to $4.55.
Finisar Corp (Nasdaq: FNSR) 14.0% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.21, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.18. Revenue for the quarter came in at $228.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $228.34 million. Sees Q2 adjusted EPS of 20 to 24 cents, which compares to the Street estimate of 20 cents. Also sees sales of $235 to $250 million, versus the consensus of $236.1 million.
Sutor Tech (Nasdaq: SUTR) 13.6% HIGHER; stock continuing to break out after pushing below the $1 level and quickly retaking it. Shares are up nearly 55 percent this week alone.
Regeneron Pharma (Nasdaq: REGN) 12.5% HIGHER; Regeneron is higher today as the NY Times reports another five patients using Roche's (OTCBB: RHHBY) Avastin product were blinded.
Oclaro, Inc. (Nasdaq: OCLR) 11.5% HIGHER; moving higher on Finisar earnings.
H&R Block, Inc. (NYSE: HRB) 11.4% LOWER; reported Q1 adjusted loss of $0.37, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.39). Revenue for the quarter came in at $267.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $275.1 million.
Gramercy Capital Corp. (NYSE: GKK) 10.3% HIGHER; today announced it has entered into a collateral transfer and settlement agreement with respect to its $549.7 million senior and junior mezzanine loans with Goldman Sachs Mortgage Company, Citicorp North America, Inc. and KBS Debt Holdings, LLC.
Novavax, Inc. (Nasdaq: NVAX) 10.1% HIGHER; after falling 19.2 percent following second-quarter earnings on August 5th, investors may be buying back in on resurgence of avian flu outbreak talks.
Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) 9.5% LOWER; Starz ends pact renewal talks with Netflix, saying it wants to protect the "premium nature" of its brand.
KMG Chemicals, Inc. (Nasdaq: KMGB), 8.3% LOWER; sees fourth-quarter revs about 14 percent better than third-quarter results, and net income half of 26 cents per share reported in the third-quarter of 2011. This translates into revenue of about $74 million and EPS of 13 cents. The estimates call for revs of $69 million and EPS of 33 cents.
