Star Scientific (Nasdaq: CIGX) 41.0% LOWER; a court has just ruled Reynolds (NYSE: RAI) didn't infringe on a Star Scientific patent. The validity of Star's patent has been upheld. Notably, shares initially surged 30 percent and were halted before dropping back down.

Omnivision Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI) 31.3% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.76, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.72. Revenue for the quarter came in at $276.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $276.59 million. Sees Q212 EPS of 52 cents to 64 cents, versus the consensus of 82 cents. Sees Q212 revenue of $255 to $275 million, versus the consensus of $306.4 million.

Camtek (Nasdaq: CAMT) 20.6% HIGHER; the stock did not respond to news of an Appeals court win in its patent case with Rudolph Tech. (Nasdaq: RTEC) on Aug. 23rd. The stock opened over $3 this morning and seems to be holding above $2.50 after slightly paring gains.

Aruba Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARUN) 19.4% HIGHER; reported Q4 adjusted EPS of $0.17, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.17. Revenue for the quarter came in at $113.8 million versus the consensus estimate of $109.36 million.

Brown Shoe Company, Inc. (NYSE: BWS), 16.9 HIGHER; bouncing after a sell off yesterday following second-quarter earnings.

Magma Design Automation, Inc. (Nasdaq: LAVA) 15.4% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.07, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.07. Revenue for the quarter came in at $35.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $36.43 million. Sees FY12 EPS of 38 to 40 cents, versus the consensus of 39 cents. Sees FY12 revenue of $158 to $160 million, versus the consensus of $159 million. Sees Q2 2012 EPS of 8 to 9 cents, versus the consensus of 9 cents. Sees Q212 revenue of $37.5 to $38.0 million, versus the consensus of $38.2 million.

Hercules Offshore (Nasdaq: HERO) 15.2% HIGHER; continuing recently volatility this morning. Oil is falling today, however has bounced over the last few minutes.

Dollar Financial Corp (Nasdaq: DLLR) 14.9% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.40, or $0.46 non-GAAP, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.41. Revenue for the quarter came in at $233.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $220.61 million.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD) 11.5% HIGHER; reported Q2 adjusted EPS of $0.06, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.06. Revenue for the quarter came in at $98 million versus the consensus estimate of $92.26 million. Comps were up 2.5% for the quarter.

dELIA*s, Inc. (Nasdaq: DLIA) 7.2% LOWER; reported Q2 adjusted loss of $0.28 per share, 2 cents worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.26). Revenue for the quarter came in at $44.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $43 million.

Clearwire (Nasdaq: CLWR) 7.2% LOWER; reports out of Bloomberg just before the close the company is getting restructuring advice from Blackstone (NYSE: BX).
