FSI International, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSII) 52.2% HIGHER; Tokyo Electron Limited and FSI International entered into a definitive agreement under which TEL will acquire FSI for $6.20 per share in cash, or an aggregate equity purchase price of approximately $252.5 million.
Sonde Resources Corp. (AMEX: SOQ) 42.5% LOWER; reported Q2 results and also commented: "In January 2012, the Company engaged an advisor to identify and evaluate alternatives to finance the Company's remaining North Africa obligations. Information learned during the process has adversely impacted our currently available financing alternatives and may delay the outcome and drilling of the three exploratory wells, which could cost more than $100 million. Despite an extensive effort, Sonde has thus far been unable to obtain financing or other arrangements on acceptable terms for the Joint Oil Block."
Alexza Pharma (Nasdaq: ALXA) 25.4% HIGHER; moving higher following a rehashing of a JMP Securities call made last Friday via a Rueters ONE press release.
Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: SVNT) 22.8% HIGHER; moving higher on solid earnings momentum, which were out early on August 8th. The stock got above the $1 level Monday for the first time since May.
Pervasive Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: PVSW) 21.2% HIGHER; Actian Corporation proposed to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Pervasive Software for $8.50 per share in cash, in a transaction valued at approximately $154 million.
Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASTI) 18.1% HIGHER; launched a charger for the Samsung Galaxy S III smart phone featuring Ascent’s ultra light CIGS technology. Also, filed its 10-Q late last Friday.
Peregrine Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: PPHM) 17.5% HIGHER; moving strongly above the $2.50 level on volume Monday. Shares hit a new 52-week high at $2.72.
SciClone Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SCLN) 11.2% LOWER; Cowen downgraded SciClone from Outperform to Neutral.
Claude Resources Inc. (NYSE: CGR) 11.8% LOWER; reported a break even Q2 loss, versus expectations calling for EPS of 2 cents. Revenue of $20.09 million also missed views.
Schnitzer Streel (Nasdaq: SCHN) 10.6% LOWER; could be moving lower following Tata Steel's first-quarter 2013 earnings miss.
Towerstream Corp. (Nasdaq: TWER) 7.7% LOWER; lower following Q2 results issued late last Thursday. Tower closed up 3 percent, though the company ended up reporting a wider Y/Y loss.
