Pacific Capital Bancorp (Nasdaq: PCBC) 33.3% HIGHER; announced today that the Company has extended the Company Expiration Date and Company Early Tender Deadline with respect to its previously announced cash tender offers for any and all of its outstanding trust preferred securities. The company also announced today that it has satisfied significant conditions to closing the previously announced investment of $500 million in the Company by SB Acquisition Company LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ford Financial Fund, L.P., and anticipates closing the transaction on August 31, 2010.
China Infrastructue Investment (Nasdaq: CIIC) 26% LOWER; volume is extremely heavy today as traders have taken the stock below the always-important $1 level for the first time since July 2009. At last check, volume was almost 2.2 million, versus the stock’s average daily volume of just 54,000. Not hearing any company specific news today.
Radio One (Nasdaq: ROIAK) 24.1% HIGHER; appears to be breaking out over the heavily-watched 200-day smooth moving average. Just an hour into the trading session, volume has already surpassed the normal daily volume of about 815,000.
Antigenics (Nasdaq: AGEN) 19.0% HIGHER; announced positive results with AG-707, an investigational therapeutic vaccine being developed to treat herpes simplex virus-2, the virus that causes genital herpes, in infected patients. Cano Petroleum, Inc. (AMEX: CFW) 18.7% HIGHER; announced today, that its board of directors has retained Canaccord Genuity, Inc. and Global Hunter Securities, LLC., as financial advisors to assist in its review of strategic alternatives with a view to enhancing shareholder value.
Agria (NYSE: GRO) 18.7% HIGHER; bouncing once again today as the stock is just off 52-low levels. The stock hit the low on July 1st and has since risen by more than 43%. About 240,000 shares have already traded hands today, sharply higher than the 89,000 daily average.
Samson Oil & Gas Limited (AMEX: SSN) 18.6% LOWER; announced that the closing of its June 24th agreement to sell 24,166 acres in Goshen County, Wyoming, for a cash purchase price of between $61 million and $79 million has been delayed by the effects of the extraordinary increase in leasing activity in Goshen County. Volterra Semiconductor (Nasdaq: VLTR) 16.8% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.40, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.37. Revenue for the quarter was $40.2 million, which compares to the estimate of $40.11 million. From the conference call: sees Q3 adj-EPS of $0.38-$0.41, which compares to the Street estimate of $0.40. Sees sales of $41.5-$43.5 million, versus the consensus of $42.5 million.
inTEST Corp. (Nasdaq: INTT) 15.1% LOWER; reports preliminary Q2 sales of $15.3 million, which compares to sales of $9.5 million in Q110. Sees quarterly EPS of $0.30, versus $0.11 last quarter.
Sanmina-SCI (Nasdaq: SANM) 14.5% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.32, 2 cents below the analyst estimate of $0.34. Revenue for the quarter was $1.63 billion, which compares to the estimate of $1.60 billion. Sees Q4 0.35-$0.41, versus the consensus of $0.38. Sees Q4 sales of 1.65-$1.7 billion, versus the consensus of $1.65 billion.
PrivateBancorp (Nasdaq: PVTB) 12.8% HIGHER; reports Q2 loss of $0.01, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.22).
