Astrotech Corporation (Nasdaq: ASTC) 41.1% HIGHER; today announced that NASA awarded its Astrotech Space Operations business unit a new contract for payload processing services for expendable launch vehicles and evolved expendable launch vehicles from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at the Eastern Range in Florida. With a value not to exceed $9.5 million, this indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract is for payload processing support on several upcoming NASA spacecraft missions.
Carolina Trust Bank (Nasdaq: CART) 22.6% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.16, versus a loss of $0.13 reported for the same period a year ago.
Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ONXX) 17.6% HIGHER; today announced positive top-line results from the Phase 2b 003-A1 study of single-agent carfilzomib, a selective, next generation proteasome inhibitor, in patients with relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma. Noah Education Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: NED) 17.0% LOWER; Noah expects net revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2010 to be approximately RMB55.6 million (US$8.2 million), representing a 53% decrease over the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. Net revenue from the Company's Electronic Learning Product (ELP) business and education services business was RMB45.3 million (US$6.7 million) and RMB10.3 million (US$1.5 million), respectively. The Company had previously expected to generate net revenue in the range of RMB129 million (US$18.9 million) to RMB135 million (US$19.8 million) for the quarter, including RMB121 million to RMB126 million from its ELP business and RMB8 million to RMB9 million from its education services business. Consensus is looking for revs of $19.52 million.
Star Scientific, Inc. (Nasdaq: CIGX) 15.1% HIGHER; moving higher on takeover chatter today, though the resistance point of $1.95 was finally broken through today.
Industrial Services of America, Inc. (Nasdaq: IDSA) 15.4% HIGHER; Shares have surged more than 35% since issuing solid Q2 guidance on Wednesday morning. The stock is now trading above the $17 mark.
A123 Systems (Nasdaq: AONE) 14.4% HIGHER; upgraded to Overweight at Barclays.
China Security & Surveillance Technology, Inc. (NYSE: CSR) 13.7% HIGHER; the company reported a Q2 EPS of $0.23, even with the analyst estimate of $0.23. Revenue for the quarter was $168.35 million, which compares to the estimate of $185.00 million. CSR also reaffirmed their outlook.
DayStar Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: DSTI) 11.1% LOWER; continuing lower this week; the stock gave up 8% on Friday after surging almost 40% on Wednesday and another 96% on Thursday. Last week's strong upside follows reports that the company will manufacture CIGS solar modules offshore.
Rosetta Stone, Inc. (NYSE: RST) 6.5% LOWER; continuing lower today after cutting their forecast late last week. Last Wednesday, after the close, Eric Eichmann, chief operating officer, has resigned from the company effective August 6, 2010. They also issued preliminary results: non-GAAP EPS of $0.20 - $0.21 on sales bookings of about $64 million. The stock was also downgraded to Hold at Jefferies.
First Interstate Bancsystem Inc. (Nasdaq: FIBK) 6.2% LOWER; Sandler O’Neill downgrades from Buy to Hold, with a price target lowered to $15.50. The stock was also downgraded to Neutral at DA Davidson.
