Presidential Life Corporation (Nasdaq: PLFE) 36.6% HIGHER; Presidential Life and Athene Holding Ltd., a Bermuda-based holding company, today announced a definitive agreement for an Athene subsidiary to acquire Presidential Life for $14.00 per share in cash.

Bridgepoint Education (NYSE: BPI) 26.5% LOWER; is getting slammed once again today, thanks in part to its Ashford University unit. According to a release earlier, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (HLC) sent a letter to Ashford, requiring its to provide an report aiming at ensuring the university is still in compliance with HLCs Criteria for Accreditation. Shares have gotten cut in half over just the last few days of trading following a WASC denial.

Affymax (Nasdaq: AFFY) 17.8% HIGHER; continuing higher following a 19 percent surge yesterday on news of an OMONTYS sourcing and supply agreement with Takeda. Shares held over $14 to finish yesterday's session, and have charged through both $15 and $16 this morning.

Box Ships Inc. (NYSE: TEU) 17.5% LOWER; today announced that it has priced its previously announced public offering of $30,000,005 of its common shares at $7.00 per share.

Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) 15.0% LOWER; sees Q2 sales down 12 percent, compared to prior guidance of a 7-9 percent decline. Non-GAAP EPS is expected at $0.87 to $0.89 versus its prior guidance of $0.95 to $1.05 and the consensus of $1.

EMCORE (Nasdaq: EMKR) 14.1% HIGHER; Needham & Company started coverage on EMCORE at Buy with a $6.50 price target.

New York & Company, Inc. (NYSE: NWY) 13.6% HIGHER; sees Q2 comps up slightly, gross margins up 400-500 basis points year over year and an operating loss to be in the range of $5 million to $7 million versus an operating loss of $15.1 million in the year-ago period.

Ambow Education Holding Ltd. (NYSE: AMBO) 12.0% HIGHER; announced a $10 million buyback program.

Ampio Pharma (Nasdaq: AMPE) 11.8% LOWER; pricing an offering of 4,615,400 shares at $3.25/share.

Wabash National (NYSE: WNC) 10.8% HIGHER; FBR Capital initiated coverage on Wabash National with an Outperform rating and $9 price target.

ACADIA Pharma (Nasdaq: ACAD) 10.2% LOWER; disclosed, in a Form 8-K, its AM-831 did not meet per-determined criteria for further development in Phase I testing and, as a result, the parties jointly have decided to discontinue the development of AM-831.
