(NYSE: FBP) 23.2% HIGHER; entered into a definitive agreement with two funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. under which Oaktree would purchase an aggregate of approximately $175.5 million of common stock of the Corporation at a per share price of $3.50. Youku.com, Inc. (NYSE: YOKU) 18.3% HIGHER; officially launched its Youku Premium paid content platform Tuesday after signing a digital distribution agreement with CAV Warner Home Entertainment Co., Ltd., Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group's joint venture in China. Under the terms of the three-year agreement, Youku will add a total of 400 to 450 Warner Bros. New Releases and Catalog titles to its Youku Premium content library.
Toreador Resources (Nasdaq: TRGL) 16.5% HIGHER; it seems the stock is finally correcting today following a downtrend which began in mid-June following news of a lawmaker ban on shale hydraulic fracturing in France. The stock fell 20 percent on the day the news of first released, and has continued almost 24 percent lower since.
Gevo, Inc. (Nasdaq: GEVO) 15.7% HIGHER; getting above the short-term $15 resistance level today. Volume is just ahead of the trailing three month average.
China BAK Battery (Nasdaq: CBAK) 12.9% LOWER; shares do not seem to be holding a level around $1.10 today. After gapping below this level at this morning's open, the stock has continued lower. Downside intensified following a move below the $1 level.
Friedman Industries Inc. (AMEX: FRD) 12.0% HIGHER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.47 versus $0.16 reported for the same period a year ago. Revenue for the quarter was $ 42.0million, compared to $23.33 million in Q410.
Ambow Education (NYSE: AMBO) 11.6% LOWER; this China-based education stock seems to be breaking below a support level around $5.50 today. Volume is heavy.
Westport Innovations Inc. (Nasdaq: WPRT) 11.2% HIGHER; signed a deal with General Motors (NYSE: GM) to help develop advanced natural gas engine technology. The companies will both bring their extensive expertise to develop natural gas engine controls, emissions and performance strategies.
Advanced Batter Technologies (Nasdaq: ABAT) 10.3% LOWER; another battery stock falling sharply today.
SemiLEDS Corp. (Nasdaq: LEDS) 7.9% LOWER; pushing below the $7.00 support level on stronger volume today. Peer Cree (Nasdaq: CREE) was started at Buy by KeyBanc this morning, which didn't translate to upside for SemiLEDS.
