Harvest Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE: HNR) 90.6% HIGHER; wholly-owned subsidiary, HNR Energia B.V., has signed a definitive Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with PT Pertamina (Persero), the national oil company of Indonesia (the Buyer), to sell all of the Company's interests in Venezuela for $725.0 million in an all-cash transaction. Net proceeds from the sale are estimated to be approximately $525.0 million after deductions for transaction related costs and taxes.
Theratechnologies Inc. (Nasdaq: THER) 56.6% LOWER; informed by Ferrer Internacional S.A. (Ferrer), its commercial partner responsible for all regulatory filings in Europe, that it is withdrawing the Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) filed with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for tesamorelin for the treatment of excess abdominal fat in HIV-infected patients with lipodystrophy.
Kandi Technologies, Corp (Nasdaq: KNDI) 18.5% HIGHER; said to be EV supplier for a new Hangzhou rental initiative.
Ampio Pharma (Nasdaq: AMPE) 17.5% LOWER; the price has pushed below technical indicators at the 50- and 200-day simple moving averages. Shares plunged through the $3.75 and $3.50 levels, but seem to have seen some support just under $3.25.
Ryder (NYSE: R) 13.2% LOWER; lowers its Q2 EPS guidance from $1.07-$1.12 previously to $0.90-$0.95, which compares to the Street estimate of $1.10. The company's FY12 EPS outlook moves from $4.02-$4.12 to $3.65-$3.85, which compares to the Street estimate of $4.09. The company cited "reduced commercial rental demand and actions taken to reduce used vehicle inventories.
Arena Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ARNA) 10.9% LOWER; hit by a mess of selling early, following a 10-day run higher into its PDUFA date for lorcaserin.
NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: NPSP) 12.8% HIGHER; Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited and NPS jointly announced today that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (of the European Medicines Agency has adopted a positive opinion, recommending the granting of a marketing authorization for the medicinal product teduglutide (tradename in Europe: Revestive) as a once-daily treatment for adult patients with short bowel syndrome.
Depomed, Inc. (Nasdaq: DEPO) 11.8% HIGHER; has acquired all rights to Zipsor (diclofenac potassium) Liquid Filled Capsules from Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Zipsor is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for relief of mild to moderate acute pain in adults.
Patriot Coal (NYSE: PCX) 10.6% LOWER; Nomura Securities reiterated its Reduce rating on Patriot following the first day of the McCloskey Coal USA conference. The stock has now given up all the gains from earlier this week. Shares fell nearly 14 percent yesterday and are now below some support at $1.30 today.
Anthera Pharma (Nasdaq: ANTH) 9.4% HIGHER; traders buying the stock ahead of the Russell reconstitution tonight. The stock was up more than 7 percent yesterday and is flirting with the $3 level today.
First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR) 9.2% HIGHER; announced LA County has approved the installation of solar modules at the Solar Ranch One photovoltaic power plant currently under construction in the Antelope Valley.
