Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: OREX) 31.8% LOWER; reports DMEP requests more info on Contrave which "would generate significantly more information than is necessary or feasible."

Acorn International, Inc. (NYSE: ATV) 27.2% HIGHER; Bireme Limited announced today that it has commenced a tender offer to purchase ordinary shares of Acorn, and American Depositary Shares of Acorn, each representing three Ordinary Shares, in an aggregate amount not to exceed 20,000,000 Ordinary Shares at $2 per share.

Cascade Corp. (NYSE: CASC) 20.5% HIGHER; reported Q2 EPS of $1.46, 64 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.82. Revenue for the quarter came in at $136.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $113.33 million.

Air Methods Corporation (Nasdaq: AIRM) 16.4% HIGHER; has entered into a definitive merger agreement to acquire OF Air Holdings Corporation and its subsidiaries, including Omniflight Helicopters, Inc., for $200 million in cash.

Blyth, Inc. (NYSE: BTH) 15.1% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.25, versus $0.74 reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $185.5 million versus $185.3 million reported last year. Reduces operating EPS outlook from $3.45 -$3.65 for FY12 to $2.80 - $3.00. Consensus sees EPS of $2.90.

Quiksilver, Inc. (NYSE: ZQK) 13.8% HIGHER; reported Q2 adjusted EPS of $0.09, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.07. Revenue for the quarter came in at $478.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $471.74 million.

FiberTower (Nasdaq: FTWR) 12.3% LOWER; continuing lower this week following last week's 75 percent move higher. The stock fell 13.5 percent on Wednesday and another 3 percent yesterday. Shares have moved below the $1.50 level today.

GT Solar International, Inc. (Nasdaq: SOLR) 12.1% HIGHER; received an order for its advanced sapphire crystallization furnaces totaling $460.4 million from a new market entrant. The order will be included in GT’s backlog for its current Q112, which ends on July 2, 2011.

Newell Rubbermaid (NYSE: NWL) 11.6% LOWER; today announced that in light of disappointing economic conditions and weak consumer spending trends in the U.S. market, it is lowering its 2011 guidance. Revised full year normalized diluted EPS growth is projected between five and ten percent or $1.60 to $1.67.

Daqo New Energy Corp. (NYSE: DQ) 10.1% LOWER; Collins Stweart initiates with a Sell.

DryShips (Nasdaq: DRYS) 9.1% HIGHER; Goldman Sachs upgrades from Neutral to Buy, raising their price target from $5.50 to $6.00.
