Cooper Industries (NYSE: CBE) 26.4% HIGHER; Eaton (NYSE: ETN) announced it will buy Cooper in a deal valued at $11.8 billion.
Osiris Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: OSIR) 24.9% HIGHER; continuing higher after a 5.5 percent rise last Friday following reports it received market authorization from Health Canada to market its stem cell therapy Prochymal. On Friday the stock held very closely to several technical indicators, however, upon gapping higher this morning, shares pushed over the $6 level after a brief test of the 50-day and then charged through the $6.50 level. Support at $7 is currently being tested.
Union Drilling (Nasdaq: UDRL) 24.4% HIGHER; shares are finally getting some relief today. The stock has closed in positive territory only once since the beginning of May. Over this course, shares were down more than 28 percent.
Goodrich Petroleum (NYSE: GDP) 18.8% HIGHER; shares are seeing sharp upside Monday, which is being attributed to takeover speculation sparked by analysts. Click here to see details of the report.
Feihe International (NYSE: ADY) 18.5% LOWER; plunged below the $6 level shortly after this morning's open. The stock pushed to a morning low of $5.12. Volume spiked as the price nosedived.
Ultra Clean Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: UCTT) 18.4% HIGHER; has signed a merger agreement with American Integration Technologies, LLC d/b/a Advanced Integration Technologies (AIT), also a supplier of critical subsystems to the semiconductor capital equipment, medical, energy, industrial and aerospace industries. UCTT will pay a purchase price of approximately $99 million.
Penn Virginia (NYSE: PVA) 17.8% HIGHER; Brean Murray Carret & Co. initiated coverage on Penn Virginia with a Buy and $10 price target. Click here to see full color on the note.
Lowes Cos. (NYSE: LOW) 9.9% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.43, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.42. Revenue for the quarter came in at $13.2 billion versus the consensus estimate of $12.99 billion. Comparable store sales for the quarter increased 2.6 percent. Lowe's sees FY2012 EPS of $1.73 to $1.83, versus the consensus of $1.87. Sees sales up 3 percent on a comparable basis and comps up 1 - 3 percent.
Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) 9.3% LOWER; investors are hitting the sell button on arguably the most high-profile IPO in the last decade or more as underwriters could only keep the stock above the $38 syndicate price for so long. After breaking that level in this morning's pre-market session, Facebook shares plunged. The stock hit a session low at $33 earlier.
Mela Sciences (Nasdaq: MELA) 7.8% LOWER; Mela continuing lower following its first-quarter 2012 earnings, reported on May 3rd. Shares are down 37 percent since then.
Learning Tree (Nasdaq: LTRE) 6.9% LOWER; shares are continuing lower after failing to retake the $6 level throughout February, March and April. Volume is extremely heavy today.
