Opexa Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPXA) 169.4% HIGHER; announced the execution of an agreement with Merck Serono, a division of Merck, Darmstadt, Germany, for the development and commercialization of Tcelna (imilecleucel-T), a potential first-in-class personalized T-cell therapy for patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS).
Protalix BioTherapeutics, Inc. (AMEX: PLX) 18.9% HIGHER; confirms, in response to inquiries received this morning and a report appearing in the Israeli press, that the company has engaged Citigroup to assist it in reviewing a broad array of product partnering, technology sharing and other strategic alternatives. There is no assurance that Protalix will undertake any such strategic alternative.
Virgin Media Inc. (Nasdaq: VMED) 17.0% HIGHER; notes the recent press speculation in relation to a possible corporate transaction between Virgin Media Inc. and Liberty Global, Inc. (Nasdaq: LBTYA). Confirms that it is in discussions with Liberty Global, Inc., a leading international cable company, concerning a possible transaction. Any such transaction would be subject to regulatory and other conditions.
Consumer Portfolio Services (Nasdaq: CPSS) 15.3% HIGHER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.16, versus $0.01 reported last year. Revenue for the quarter came in at $50.62 million, versus $46.77 million reported last year.
China Digital TV Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE: STV) 14.8% HIGHER; has been on quite a run the last three sessions, rising 36 percent since the close last Thursday. In particular, the stock is showing some strength above the $2.25 level, with volume increasing as share have moved closer to the price.
Cache, Inc., (Nasdaq: CACH) 13.6% HIGHER; announced that its Board of Directors appointed Jay Margolis as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cache. Concurrent with this appointment, Thomas Reinckens will step down as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Cache.
Diana Containerships (Nasdaq: DCIX) 13.6% LOWER; could be moving lower on a negative SeekingAlpha piece.
IEC Electronics Corp. (NYSE: IEC) 13.5% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.09, $0.08 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.17. Revenue for the quarter came in at $33 million versus the consensus estimate of $35.81 million.
Baidu.com (NASDAQ: BIDU) 10.9% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $1.31, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $1.29. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.02 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1 billion. Baidu sees Q1 2013 revenue of $945.4-$975.9 million, versus the consensus of $967.1 million.
Rudolph Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: RTEC) 9.3% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.17, $0.02 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.19. Revenue for the quarter came in at $54.3 million versus the consensus estimate of $56.95 million.
