Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 01/12: SDIX, ZLC, EMMS, COOL, CRIS, EEE Higher; LF, KV-A, CNST, CPF, THOR Lower

SDIX (Nasdaq: SDIX) 46.0% HIGHER; announced Wednesday that the Food and Drug Administration has determined equivalent to accuracy, precision and sensitivity for its RapidChek Select Salmonella test system. Click here to see the full report.

Zale Corporation (NYSE: ZLC) 36.7% HIGHER; announces holiday sales for 2010 increased 8% to $533.1 million, with an 8.5% increase in comparable-store sales. Soleil also upgraded the stock to Hold earlier.

Emmis Communications Corp. (Nasdaq: EMMS) 23.3% HIGHER; still moving higher today following the filing of a 10-Q yesterday. Looks like shares have seen some resistance at the $0.90 price level, and volume increased beyond that point, possibly setting the stage for a little bit of a run. Emmis has seen a range of $0.43 - $2.45 over the last 52-weeks.

Majesco Entertainment Company (Nasdaq: COOL) 22.8% HIGHER; has sold more than 500,000 units to retailers nationwide of its Zumba Fitness interactive video game for Wii, Kinect for the Xbox 360 (Nasdaq: MSFT) and PlayStationMove (NYSE: SNE) motion controller. The Zumba Fitness video game has quickly become one of Majesco's fastest-selling titles, having reached this milestone in less than two months.

LeapFrog (NYSE: LF) 22.7% LOWER; reports preliminary FY10 figures: EPS of $0.03 - $0.06 on sales which are expected to be up 13% - 14%. The Street is currently looking for FY10 EPS of $0.28. LeapFrog had previously guided FY10 EPS to $0.20 - $0.30c and sales up 15% - 20%.

KV Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NYSE: KV-A) 21.9% LOWER; the company announced that the FDA has extended the PDUFA date for KV's Gestiva application to April 13 of this year.

Curis (Nasdaq: CRIS) 17.9% HIGHER; pushing over a resistance level at $2.50 today. Volume is very heavy today. The stock jumped more than 5% yesterday.

Constar International (Nasdaq: CNST) 16.5% LOWER; continuing lower today following news yesterday that a unit of the company has filed for bankruptcy protection. The stock tumbled almost 55% yesterday.

Evergreen Energy (NYSE: EEE) 16.0% HIGHER; officially en fuego in the month of January, where the stock has seen its value rise from beginnings of $0.64 on January 3, to rise over 470% to over $3 today.

Central Pacific Financial Corp. (NYSE: CPF) 9.4% LOWER; pulling back today after making an 85% run since the middle of December. Looking at a 20-day chart, the shares appear close to the 50-day SMA. Volume is also heavy today.

Thoratec Corp. (Nasdaq: THOR) 7.3% LOWER; trading in opposition with shares of Heartware (Nasdaq: HTWR). Traders may be taking profits today as the stock rose nearly 10% over last week's trading session plus Monday. The stock was downgraded at Wedbush today.
