Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers: CHIP, BZH, RHD, LCC Higher; BWTR, SIRF, CRME, URRE Lower

Basin Water, Inc. (NASDAQ: BWTR) 48% LOWER; will not file its quarterly report on Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 by the required deadline, which is today, and that it has canceled its previously scheduled conference call to discuss second quarter financial results. Separately, the Company also updated guidance it gave during its first quarter conference call regarding expected revenues for 2008. During that call, the Company indicated that analysts’ estimates that the Company would achieve revenues of $26 million to $36 million for fiscal year 2008 were not unreasonable. The Company no longer believes those estimates will be achieved and does not intend to provide any further revenue guidance for the year.

VeriChip (Nasdaq: CHIP) 38.9% HIGHER; today announced that its Board has declared a one-time Special Dividend payment of $1.35 per share to its stockholders. The Special Dividend is payable on August 28, 2008 to stockholders of record as of August 18, 2008.

SiRF Technology Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIRF) 28.4% LOWER; news hit the stock late Friday that an International Trade Commission judge ruled that SiRF infringed six patents related to improving global positioning system positioning system processing and sensitivity held by Global Locate, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Broadcom (Nasdaq: BRCM).

Cardiome Pharma (Nasdaq: CRME) 24.9% LOWER; received a letter from the U.S. FDA requesting further information on KYNAPID(TM) for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. The request could mean regulatory delays could affect the progress of trials.

Beazer Homes USA, Inc. (NYSE: BZH) 24% HIGHER; Friday morning reported a Q3 loss of $2.85, versus the analyst estimate of ($2.34). Revenues for the quarter were $455.6 million, versus the consensus of $430.09 million. Shares remained flat on Friday but appear to be breaking out today.

R.H. Donnelley (NYSE: RHD) 23.9% HIGHER; shares of the printing & publishing company are seeing a sharp move higher today even though the company has not released news. Elsewhere in the industry: Idearc (NYSE: IAR) up 15.6% and GateHouse Media (NYSE: GHS) up 17.2%.

Uranium Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: URRE) 23.1% LOWER; reports a Q2 loss of $0.06, compared to a $0.02 gain in Q207. Revenues for the quarter were $6.6 million, compared to $8 million reported in the same quarter last year.

US Airways (NYSE: LCC) 19.2% HIGHER; airline stocks are having a great day on the Street today as oil continues to decline. The price of crude oil has fallen under $114 today.

SunOpta Inc. (Nasdaq: STKL) 17.2% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.01, 5 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.06. Revenues for the quarter were $291.95 million, versus the consensus of $271.05 million.

Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (Nasdaq: PEIX) 17.2% LOWER; reports a Q2 loss of $0.23, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.12). Revenues for the quarter were $198 million, versus the consensus of $206.16 million.
