VeriFone Systems (NYSE: PAY) 14% LOWER; reported EPS of $0.42 and revs of $430 million, with the consensus looking for EPS of $0.47 and revs of $440.3 million. Revs were down 10.4 percent from last year while EPS slipped 34.4 percent. Adjusted gross margin narrowed by 2.4 points to 42.2 percent Looking ahead, VeriFone said it expects Q313 EPS of $0.20 and revs of $400 million, while the Street was modeling EPS of $0.50 and revs of $460.54 million.

Ascena Retail Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASNA) 8.4% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.26, $0.04 worse than the analyst estimate of $0.30. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.14 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.17 billion. Ascena Retail Group, Inc. sees FY2013 EPS of $1.10-1.15, versus prior guidance of $1.20-1.30 and the consensus of $1.26.

Vera Bradley, Inc. (NASDAQ: VRA) 8.2% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.23, $0.02 better than the analyst estimate of $0.21. Revenue for the quarter came in at $123 million versus the consensus estimate of $121.01 million. Sees Q214 EPS of $0.31 - $0.33, versus the consensus of $0.39. The company also sees revenue of $123 - $126 million, versus the consensus of $136.2 million. Sees FY2014 EPS of $1.74 - $1.78, versus prior expectations of $1.83 - $1.88 and the consensus of $1.81. The Company also sees FY2014 revenue of $570 - $575 million, versus prior expectations of $585 - $590 million the consensus of $591.1 million.

Francesca's Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: FRAN) 7.6% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.26, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.26. Revenue for the quarter came in at $79 million versus the consensus estimate of $79.54 million. Comparable sales, including direct-to-consumer sales, increased 2%. Francesca's Holdings Corp. sees FY2013 EPS of $1.27-1.30, versus the consensus of $1.30. Francesca's Holdings Corp. sees FY2013 revenue of $365-370 million, versus the consensus of $370.2 million. This assumes a 4% to 5% increase in comparable sales including direct-to-consumer. Francesca's Holdings Corp. sees Q2 2013 EPS of $0.35-0.36, versus the consensus of $0.35. Francesca's Holdings Corp. sees Q2 2013 revenue of $94.5-95.5 million, versus the consensus of $94.9 million. This assumes a 1% to 2% increase in comparable sales including direct-to-consumer.

Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE: RST) 3.5% LOWER; announced the commencement of a public offering of 3,500,000 shares of its common stock. Of the 3,500,000 shares of its common stock being offered, the selling stockholders, ABS Capital Partners IV Trust and Norwest Equity Partners VIII, LP, are offering 3,490,000 shares and Rosetta Stone is offering 10,000 shares. The selling stockholders will also grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 525,000 additional shares of common stock. The shares will be sold pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement on Form S-3 that was previously filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Zumiez Inc. (NASDAQ: ZUMZ) 2.8% LOWER; announced that total net sales for the four-week period ended June 1, 2013 increased 16.7% to $43.6 million, compared to $37.4 million for the four-week period ended May 26, 2012. The Company's comparable store sales increased 1.1% for the four-week period ended June 1, 2013 compared to a comparable store sales increase of 13.7% for the four-week period ended May 26, 2012.

Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE: TMO) 1.8% LOWER; announced an underwritten public offering of $2.2 billion of its common stock in connection with the forward sale agreements described below. J.P. Morgan and Barclays are acting as joint book-running managers and as representatives of the underwriters for the offering.
