Lipid Sciences (Nasdaq: LIPD) 40% HIGHER; The company recently announced it has developed a synthetic form of HDL that mimics key functions of naturally-occurring human HDL. The Company's lead HDL Mimetic Peptide compound, LSI 518P, and a back-up compound have been identified and validated with an extensive battery of in vitro assays. The lead compound was selected as a result of screenings at multiple sites: The Baker Institute, Melbourne, Australia; the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; and in Lipid Sciences' own laboratory. In these tests, the selected mimetic peptide candidates effluxed cholesterol via the ABCA1 transporter metabolic pathway -- known to be optimal for removing cholesterol from arterial plaque via the reverse cholesterol transport mechanism -- at a rate similar to naturally-occurring HDL.
Medivation, Inc. (Nasdaq: MDVN) 26.3% HIGHER; The company said that the benefits of Dimebon over placebo in its double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2 study in mild-to- moderate Alzheimer's disease were statistically significant on all five study endpoints at 12 month.
Neurochem Inc (Nasdaq: NRMX) 13.75% HIGHER; Paul S. Aisen, M.D., Professor of Neurology and Medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center, and principal investigator in the United States of Neurochem Inc.'s North American Phase III clinical trial for tramiprosate (ALZHEMED(TM)) will present today an update on Neurochem's investigational product candidate for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Boston Communications Group Inc. (Nasdaq: BCGI) 12% LOWER; On June 1, 2007, Amp'd Mobile, Inc. filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the District of Delaware. Amp'd is a significant customer of Boston Communications Group with a long term contract through 2012 and had been included as a key component of bcgi's growth plans for the next five years. In addition, bcgi has monies due from Amp'd for services performed and other contractual fees of approximately $2.8 million as of the bankruptcy filing date. Lastly, the net book value of bcgi's hardware and software related to the provision of service to Amp'd was approximately $2.0 million as of the filing date. The outcome of Amp'd Mobile's bankruptcy proceedings could have a material adverse effect on bcgi's results of operations and financial condition.
Duckwall-ALCO Stores (Nasdaq: DUCK) 8.2% LOWER; Reports a Q1 loss of $0.59 vs. consensus of $0.14 profit (may not be comparable) Revenues were $111.4 million vs. $115.0 million consensus. The Company also updates its Adjusted EBITDA guidance for the full fiscal year ended February 3, 2008, to the range of $27 million to $30 million. This update is due to the results of the first quarter of fiscal 2008. The Company is also updating the number of new stores to be opened during fiscal 2008 to 18 -- 20. (NOTE - Light Volume)
EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME) 6.9% HIGHER; Company raised its financial guidance for the 2007. The Company now expects revenue for the 2007 full year period to be in the range of $5.5 billion to $5.7 billion, and diluted earnings per share for 2007 of $2.75 to $3.00. The Company's previous financial guidance was revenue in the range of $5.3 billion to $5.5 billion and diluted earnings per share of $2.45 to $2.80.
Marketaxess (NASDAQ: MKTX) 6.7% LOWER; Credit Suisse downgrades Marketaxess from Neutral to Underperform.
U.S. Steel Corp. (NYSE: X) 6% LOWER; ThyssenKrupp denied it is in talks to acquire Severstal or U.S. Steel.

AMERIGROUP (NYSE: AGP) 5.5% HIGHER; Jefferies & Co upgrades AMERIGROUP from Underperform to Hold.
H&R Block (NYSE: HRB) 4.8% HIGHER; UBS upgrades H&R Block (HRB) from Neutral to Buy, saying mortgage unit sale increases LBO probability.
