Cypress Bioscience (Nasdaq: CYPB) 98.2% HIGHER; Forest Laboratories (NYSE: FRX) and Cypress Bioscience announced that preliminary top-line results from a 1,196 patient randomized, three month, double-blind, placebo-controlled pivotal Phase III study demonstrate statistically significant therapeutic effects of milnacipran as a treatment of fibromyalgia syndrome.
Vion Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: VION) 54% LOWER; Announced that it would suspend enrollment and further patient treatment in its Phase III clinical study of Cloretazine (VNP40101M) for patients with relapsed adult myelogenous leukemia (AML) pending a detailed review of all of the data from the trial. This decision was based on the recommendation of the trial's independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) after a planned interim analysis.
Northfield Laboratories (NASDAQ: NFLD) 46% LOWER; Reported results of its pivotal Phase III trauma trial with PolyHeme, its human hemoglobin-based oxygen-carrying red blood cell substitute. Further analysis of the mortality data indicates that the difference in mortality at 30 days between patients who received PolyHeme beginning at the scene and continuing for up to 12 hours following injury, and control patients who received the standard of care, including early blood, was not statistically significant.
The Stride Rite Corp (NYSE: SRR) 31.2% HIGHER; Payless ShoeSource, Inc. (NYSE: PSS) and The Stride Rite signed a definitive agreement by which Payless will acquire Stride Rite for $20.50 per share in cash.
TRM Corporation (Nasdaq: TRMM) 22% LOWER; reports a Q4 loss of $0.37 (from continuing operations) compared to a loss of $0.56 for the same period in the prior year. Revenues were $24.9 million compared to $29.77 million for the same period in the prior year. TRM Corporation also announced the appointment of Richard Stern, currently Chief Operating Officer, to the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 15, 2007.
Gaming Partners International Corp. (Nasdaq: GPIC) 19% HIGHER; Continued momentum from Monday night's earnings. Also, today, GPIC announced that it has completed and delivered an order from Crown Macau Casino for the production for approximately 70,000 Bourgogne & Grasset® high frequency (13.56MHz) RFID plaques. GPI supplied several sets of the state-of-the-art B&G plaques using high frequency RFID technology from Magellan. The order was also for all of the wheelchecks with its Bud Jones roulette chips

Bristow Group Inc. (NYSE: BRS) 14.5% LOWER; Reports Q4 EPS of $0.91, 27 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $228.7 million vs. $218.7 million consensus.
CSS Industries, Inc. (NYSE: CSS) 13.4% LOWER; Reports a Q4 loss of $0.52, 6 cents worse than estimates. Revenues were $45.26 million. Sees FY08 EPS between $2.45-$2.60 vs. consensus of $2.95.
Analog Devices Inc. (NYSE: ADI) 10% LOWER; Reports Q2 GAAP EPS of $0.37, $0.40 non-GAAP, versus the consensus of $0.35. Revenues came in at $669 million versus the consensus of $659 million. Sees Q3 EPS of $0.33-$0.41, versus the consensus of $0.40. Sees Q3 revenues of $655-$658 million versus the consensus of $683.5 million. Numerous downgrades.
