magicJack VocalTec, Ltd. (Nasdaq: CALL) 9% HIGHER; announces higher estimates for Q4 and full year 2012. For Q4, the Company expects to have over $0.70 per share of operating income. The company also appointed Gerald T. Vento as President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2013.
Aeterna Zentaris Inc. (Nasdaq: AEZS) 5% HIGHER; has reached an agreement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") on a Special Protocol Assessment ("SPA") for an upcoming Phase 3 registration trial in endometrial cancer with its doxorubicin peptide conjugate, AEZS-108. The SPA agreement states that the proposed trial protocol design, clinical endpoints and planned analyses are acceptable to the FDA to support a regulatory submission.
Omeros Corporation (NASDAQ: OMER) 5% LOWER; Reported results of its Phase 3 for OMS103HP. Although Symptoms Subscale of the KOOS did not reach statistical significance, OMS103HP achieved statistically significant (p=0.0003) reduction of postoperative pain.
Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS) 3% HIGHER; Pearson (NYSE: PSO) has agreed to invest $89.5 million in cash in NOOK Media, LLC for a 5% stake. The company also said based on preliminary sales results to date in the holiday period and sales trends, the Company expects its holiday sales results will be below expectations and that the NOOK business will not meet the Company’s prior projection for fiscal year 2013.
