- Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) - up 2.1 percent. Could be getting a boost from Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) and Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) on Wednesday, with both companies reporting earnings after the close on Tuesday. Microsoft stock has been basically trending down and then up in rapid succession over the last several sessions, luring in the 50-day indicator.
- EMC Corp. (NYSE: EMC) - up 9.6 percent. EMC reported preliminary second quarter numbers late Tuesday. The Company sees consolidated revenues of approximately $5.31 billion, up 10 pecent over Q2 2011, and record Q2 non-GAAP earnings per weighted average diluted share (EPS) of $0.39, up 11 percent over Q2 2011.
The Street was looking for revs of $5.29 billion and EPS of $0.40.
- Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC) - up percent. Ericsson reported second quarter results earlier, with CEO Hans Vestberg saying demand for new network equipment was still strong.
- Western Digital Corp. (Nasdaq: WDC) - up 4.2 percent. Another tech seeing a pop today. More positive news from PC and mobile device companies bodes well for the memory maker, which is still relatively flat in 2012 amid rebounding well after Thai flooding late last year.
- Citigroup, Inc. (NYSE: C) - down percent. Citi got two good sessions in following second-quarter numbers early Monday, seeing investors take a bit of profit today. Shares are getting some pressure from Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), which reported its second-quarter numbers earlier.
- Popular, Inc. (Nasdaq: BPOP) - down 7.7 percent. Popular slumping following its quarterly report today.. The bank posted EPS of 63 cents, versus consensus views of 41 cents.
- Fulton Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: FULT) - down 3.3 percent. Another financial seeing weakness following quarterly numbers. In-line EPS didn't do it for Fulton, sending shares as much as 4.9 percent lower Wednesday.
- Beazer Homes USA Inc. (NYSE: BZH) - down 3.4 percent. Building permits at 755,000 missed expectations calling for 765,000, sending homebuilders lower today.
